Facilioty Directors

Does anybody have any suggestion in finding a Facility Director (aka Housemom). I have been going through our Greek Life office, but I wasn't sure if there was a better resource...suggestions???

I'd suggest going through a recruiter or specialized service if you're having trouble finding someone locally (or aren't experienced in hiring, doing reference and background checks, negotiating salary and benefits, etc.). You can probably find some through google. You can also post free ads on craigslist.org if you want to do it all yourself, you can always try monster or careerbuilder (but those will have a fee, I'd look for a specialized recruiter before going that route). Who is doing the search and hiring, the undergraduates or alums/advisers?

International HQ may also have some additional tips and information for you. I was on a facility corp. board chapter for a chapter that had a facility and a house mom. My general impression was the corp. board hired the house mom as the house mom always answered to us. Your facility corp. board may be a great place to start as well (assuming you arent on the board)!

There is a seminar at the University of Alabama on this topic. Even if you can't attend, this is something worth looking at:

Also, there are some websites out there that specialize in these searches. I know that some advisors have used one in particular. Your FMDD can help guide you on this. I wish I had it at my fingertips, but I do not.

also www.mgca.org under member services, career center.

But nobody knows to search for Facility, so list your job as House Director, and you should get more responses. Best Wishes.
