Lady Bird Johnson passes away at 94

Reading about her, she always struck me as a very dignified and classy lady. May she rest in peace.
Out of curiosity, is she an alumna of any sorority?

I'm sad about her passing. Although her husband had to be hard to live with, she was always the height of class. They were in the White House during my childhood in Texas and I never once heard a bad word about her and only heard praise for her work with wildflowers.

We did see her once, floating down the RiverWalk in San Antonio on a little barge.

Wasn't her project the beautification of America? I seem to remember seeing special seeds to plant or such - my mother thought very highly of Lady Bird.

ETA: just read a brief bio. She went to the University of Texas, Austin, fwiw.

She was a true Texas treasure. When we see the beautiful wildflowers in the spring, we will remember her.
BTW, I don't think she was in a sorority at Texas. Her 2 daughters were Zetas at Texas.

I don't remember where I head it, but her one daughter Lynda Johnson Robb was a ZTA at Texas while her father was in the White House. Apparently a special room was built in the house for the Secret Service.

A woman in my hometown was active while at least 1 of the Johnsons was. She said the Secret Service guys' presence was annoying but they knew when to make themselves scarce.

How interesting! I wonder what they do with that room now?
