Angry Please look at this hot mess- I hope you are sitting

A friend of mine e-mailed me this picture this morning and I am stunned to say the least. She doesn't know the source but I'll let the picture speak for itself.

^^^This is at school in the south, i can't remember the school, but the frat and sorority take turns dressing like each other and doing each others step. It's in fun, not to redicule or anything.

I need to find the email that I got.

Soror I'm glad you cleared this up but I still think it's weird for lack of a better term ( I guess that explains those extra small jackets they got on). I've heard of tribute steps (which I'm not all that fond of either) but this is something totally new to me. I guess you would have to be there to feel where they're coming from but for someone who is seeing this for the first time in an e-mail my face is frowned up right about now.

I understand where you are coming from, I believe in this case, this particular school does this on an annual basis and it's a tribute of sorts.

There is also a photo of guys with AKA jackets on doing a stroll. So it wasn't just Delta. As has been explained this is an annual event in which the groups participate all in fun.

While I love the internet, here is an example of something being spread out of context that's going to have a whole lot of folx getting the wrong idea.

Now that we know the real deal, let's help nip it in the bud. Thanks treblk.

I know it's supposed to be all in fun, but I think that it's still disrespectful. I do not appreciate seeing men in my glorious symbols, regardless of the reason. If others want to let the opposite sex wear their letters, that's their business. But I'd rather not see men, or ANY NON-DELTA in our symbols.

As I posted on AKA Avenue, who should we really be angry with?

I'm mad at the correct persons. I just didn't want to put them out there like that. LOL

Yes, I do know about the photo of the guys wearing AKA jackets- I posted that picture over in the AKA forum. However, I don't think anyone is taking anything out of context especially not me. I understand what you are saying Soror but obviously there are other Sorors that feel differently. If it is a joke, as stated by Soror Treblk, then it is certainly the first time I've ever heard of it and I thought it was quite odd when I saw the picture which was why I posted it. I don't see how Sorors voicing their feelings about this picture is taking anything out of context.

It's taking it out of context when opinions are voiced not knowing the whole story. Many folx thought the pics were of Delta Gents and Miakas. So initial opinions were based on that.
I have no problem with anyone voicing their opinion when they have all the facts.

But on a more general note, I am also talking about folx forwarding emails and posting information from an unoffical source and thinking it is official. I just think we need to be more careful about what we spread on public message boards. We have already seen too many instances of this.

Soror I definitely see where you are coming from but whether it is a joke or not some Sorors still don't think it's cool. I do agree with you when you say direct your anger at the right people meaning whoever let them sport their 'nalia.
