many things associated with sweethearts are regional AND temporal--meaning that depending on the era in time and the part of the country that one resides, one will see different manifestations of the group.

as someone who WAS a sweetheart of a fraternity in 1989 before becoming the Zeta Woman that I AM TODAY, and who has lived in different geographical areas, i have seen stuff come and go...

I believe the Que Pearl handsign isn't exactly the same. Their middle and ring fingers do not touch their thumbs. And if they did I could care less, handsigns are a minor part of the sisterhood. IMHO.
