I'm in a quandary...
A couple of months ago, my chapter's president sent out an email to the alums inviting us all to a 10th anniversary celebration/reunion over Columbus Day weekend. (Never mind that my chapter is not even 9 years old. Long story.) I've been thinking about going, to reconnect with other alums from my day and to get to meet younger alums and the actives. (I've been looking forward to meeting one alum in particular, whom I've never met but with whom I've been corresponding by email for a few months.)
I just got an email from the chapter's alumnae chair listing the activities they've got planned along with the alums who have RSVP'd. Out of 12 alums, I only know two, and one of them is the reason why I had nothing to do with AEPhi for a long time. (I've posted the story before.
Here is one of the posts.) And the activities - there are only a couple of things I'm interested in (the "formal dinner" is at Dick's Last Resort??), and it's also the weekend of one of the chapter's fundraisers, and you just
know the alums are going to get pressed into service...
So, I can either (a) go to the entire weekend, (b) just go to those things I'm interested in and hope You-Know-Who doesn't go to those same events, or (c) beg off with a work-related excuse (I do have to work that Monday).
Advice?
