Question Living in the Sorority House

Hey sorors and other greeks!

So, I'm a neo, and my line is looking into living in a house next year. (AKA on my campus currently doesn't have one). Anyway, I'm seriously considering living with my sorors. Right now I live alone in an apartment near campus, but LOVE the privacy… but I hate the anti-social-ness of living off campus. So, do you have any advice for me? Do I renew my lease, live in the mansion? What are your experiences living in the house with sorors if you did? I certainly want to hear about the good, the bad, and the ugly! Would you recommend it?

Just get one of your LSs to become your roommate. That's what I did. If I needed the "house" experience, I would have just continued to stayed on campus.

Anti-social-ness of living off campus, hmmmm. That's interesting. Times really have changed.

yeah true. given the location of my apartment so close to campus and away from other students, my place was the spot for studying and meeting up together as we were all pursuing membership. but i really mean those times at 4 am when you wake up randomly and cant just walk down the hall or bother somebody to wake up and chill with you.

Rude, your undergrad situation is probably more similar to mine. Living off-campus was definitely a death knell for your social life.

"Where you been? I haven't seen you in weeks!"

"I live off campus....."

Some of the fraternity houses I've been in were filthy, and I'm a neat freak, so I felt better living off campus on my own. If you're a neat freak and some of the girls are not, then depending on how you are about keeping the place clean, you may want to think about it. If being around people are more important to you, then I would go for it.

Good luck to you.

Still, it must be a new day. Even those living 100 feet from campus had it going on...off campus apartments/houses etc were the places you wanted to be.
