VU fraternity to start after school program

VALPARAISO -- The members of Sigma Phi Epsilon have worked hard to get rid of that "Animal House" stigma of fraternity life.

The fraternity is a designated Valparaiso University Sexual Assault Advocacy and Facilitative Education (SAAFE) house. Its members participate in a number of community service activities and have won awards for their efforts.

Now, the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon are taking their mission even further. They're inviting children to be a part of their house through a new after school program.

Just wanted to give a big hell yeah to the brothers at Valpo. Seeing stuff like this is one of the reasons I'm so proud to be a Brother of the Golden Heart. Keep up the good work.

Props to the Valpo Sig Eps! And it's great to hear positive greek news come out of Valpo. (Heck, it's amazing to hear ANY greek news come out of Valpo...)

That is absolutely wonderful! I teach fifth grade in a middle school and the area as a whole is very low income. Some of my children (especially my boys) would greatly benefit from a program of this sort where they could have a positive male role model. It makes me so happy to read things like this!
