Exclamation Bank Statements

Okay guys...yesterday Will and I went to the mall to do a little shopping. He bought me a purse on his dillard's card and I used my atm visa card to buy two items...an iced mocha and a bottle of shampoo.

Well today I check my statement online and notice it says "Check Card Activity" = $1.00? I will see that sometimes if I take money out from a non-Wells Fargo atm...but yesterday, or the day before that, I made no such withdrawls! Do you think someone could have made an extra transaction as a "TIP"?

I've heard of such things happening...but I'm not sure! What would you do?

Some banks will charge a monthly "check card activity" fee, usually just a dollar or two per month that your card is actively being used. Sort of like the checking account fees some banks charge.

whew! i got off the phone...i tried to delete this thread but it wouldn't! the bank said that since i had purchased gas at the pump and since it was over the weekend, the people run through a buck to make sure it's an active account and then by tomorrow the statement will show the actual amount and to whom it was from!

Here I was freaked that it was someone trying to take a tip! LOL!

sometimes when you open up a tab at a bar, they hold about $50 or so when they open the tab to make sure you can cover the tab..i learned this the hard way one day this summer when i had gone out the weekend before, when i checked my bank balance online the following monday and was overdrawn, started freaking out because i knew there was NO WAY that i could be overdrawn...just an fyi so if this ever happens to any of you, ,you don't freak out

That totally sucks! Cuz you really weren't overdrawn but I'm sure you probably had to pay an overdrawn fee!

Banks confuse me sometimes... URG!

luckily i didn't have to pay a fee..i called my bank immediately and bitched until i found out what the deal was, and made sure i didn't have to pay a fee..

i agree about bank confusion tho..seriously..whats the deal w/charging an overdraft fee? obviously i didn't have the money to begin with, why are you taking more from me!?!
