I had family interferences my freshman year of high school so my GPA was about a 2.8.. but throughout my sophomore and junior year l I got a 3.0. My senior year I worked my butt off and had a 3.6ish, and I took a couple of college classes on the side. I have yet to officially start at the University of KY, but since my cumulative is a 3.06, will that completely exclude me for being considered for the two sororities with a minimum 3.2 GPA requirment? If so I will be heartbroken because I do not want me being goofy during the beginning of my high school career knock off two of the 12 sororities when I haven't even had the chance to see what they are all about.

Thanks in advance

eta: OK, I see where you got the GPA requirements...

Some sororities have minimums required by their nationals. If you are below the line, there is nothing that can be done. Being goofy has consequences. This may be a harsh lesson, but it will be the first of many as you grow up.

If you're "heartbroken" because of the two you (maybe) can't have, instead of happy because of the 10 that you're qualified for grade-wise, you're going to have a very difficult time in rush. Get off the internet and stop researching, and work on your conversation skills and personal presentation instead.

You were below the 3.2 GPA cut-off for three years, not one. And even if you had made a 3.0 your freshman year, you still wouldn't have a 3.2 cumulative GPA.

There's nothing that you can do about GPA now, so work on all the other things you CAN change - conversation skills, letters of rec (if it's not too late, people with UK experience can chime in), outfits, etc.

For the record, UK has 13 NPC chapters not twelve. Also, Alpha Chi Omega is recolonizing this fall.
