Here's a link with more detail.
http://www.utk.edu/tntoday/2013/09/3...-fraternities/
IMO, is it a new standard practice to have security cameras in all interior public areas of the residence of a GLO? While I think it will do good to help prevent hazing of any kind, what about official ritualistic ceremonies which cannot be seen on camera, so that no secrets can be revealed?
I would not want any footage of our (or any GLO) secret rituals (Lambda Chi Alpha has a few open Rituals, such as our Associate Member ceremony) ending up on YouTube.

ZetaPhi, our NA Ritual is open to the public! I am glad it was on youtube!
I suggested to my chapter that they adv. in the School Paper and have it in an open air area!
Dispeals some of the OOOH mistic and show we are not animals!

I did say that. I just don't want to see anyone's secret Rituals on YouTube. But I have seen Ritual robes of other male GLOs on Twitter feeds.

I think the campus might have some cultural issues. I'm recalling the butt chugging incident and the just bizarre news conference held by one (or some?) of Pike's alumnus/alumni in defense of that indefensible act.

I'm trying to find a link for documentation but I read an AP article in the newspaper that Pi Kappa Phi Nationals closed down their chapter there; will provide the link when I find it.
Found it; I just went to the source:

A statement from the U of Tennessee is at:
http://tntoday.utk.edu/2013/12/02/st...-pi-kappa-phi/
Similar report is at:
Pi Kappa Phi HQ and U of Tennessee shut down the UT chapter (hazing allegations, etc.
http://www.tnjn.com/2013/12/02/uts-p...ose-its-doors/
Excerpt from ^^:
Maggie Jones on December 2, 2013 in News
Another fraternity has been forced to close its doors at the University of Tennessee.
Pi Kappa Phi’s registration was retracted and individual members could face criminal charges following a decision by the fraternity’s national office to close the UT chapter based on hazing and misconduct allegations.
Pi Kappa Phi was already under disciplinary probation this fall because of hazing that occurred earlier in the spring. UT Student Life and UT Police began an investigation after more accusations of hazing were made. They informed the fraternity’s national office about these allegations, prompting the closure of UT’s chapter.
UT Police received a report from a concerned parent claiming his son, a Pi Kappa Phi pledge, was being “physically and verbally attacked during fraternity activities,” . . . The notice read that a photograph of a bleeding new member was provided and UT Officer Benjamin Doty confirmed that some new members were being injured from the hazing.
The investigation is still going on with the possibility of individual members facing charges.
Current Pi Kappa Phi members will be allowed to stay in the fraternity house until the end of this semester’s finals, but they must find another place to live for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year.
The chapter cannot return to UT until the fall of 2017. . . .

Seems U T is haveing a major out break of suspensions the last year or so.
Almost right up there with Un Az. Seems when a chapter starts doing stupid things there is a rush to see who can out do the others.
It is not the schools rushing to judgement but trying to get contol over some bad situations. These scenses are seen all over the academic and Greek wolrd.

With the closure of Pi Kappa Phi's chapter at UTK this past weekend and earlier in the semester, the sanctions placed on Sigma Chi and Lambda Chi Alpha, how many actual closures have happened there over the last several years?
I know FIJI and Pi Kappa Alpha were 2 others.

Last week, two members of Pi Kappa Phi at Tennessee were charged with harassment of the pledge who supposedly reported the hazing.
