I knew she'd been ill for a long time, but it's still sad to hear of her passing.
One of my favorite movies of all time is the wonderfully cheesy "Back to the Beach" in which she and Frankie Avalon reunited.

My mother and another friend have the same birthday, too - but not the same year. I posted on Facebook how the DJs I listened to declared 22 October as "High Holy Day" to silliness, and played Annette clips throughout the morning. Good stuff.
But count me among those who are crushed by this news...
