Alumni Lavalier?
I just graduated in May, but my girlfriend still has a year left of school. She has always wanted to be lavaliered, but we had not been dating for long and I wasn't ready to lavalier her before I graduated. I know that she feels like she is missing out because she was not lavaliered, and that part of her still wants me to lavalier her, even though I'm graduated.
I was wondering if it's acceptable for an alumni to lavalier a girl? Or is that something that is somewhat taboo?
Also, if I were to lavalier her, would she be able to have a candle pass? Or would her sisters look down on it at all because I'm graduated? Would it be something that she would have to keep to herself, and if so, is it even worthwhile?

It's fine. Do it. She gets her candle pass and the fun of being lavaliered, and you don't have to go through the humiliation of being dumped in a lake by your brothers (a UCF favorite back when I was in school when a brother lavaliered a girl) or somesuch tradition. Girls came back to my chapter years after graduating for a candlepass to celebrate engagements and the collegians happily accomodated them.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't lavalier her. She'd still get the same candle pass, no reason it should be different.

The process would only be different for you, not for her. Go for it and have some fun with it. She'll thank you for the romantic extras you throw in.

Go for it! Like adpiucf said, she'll get her candle pass, and you won't get humiliated by your brothers if that's a tradition of your chapter.

That's allowed? It would seem all kinds of awk to me if we had a candle pass for an alumna especially since it would be kind of obvious it was for her if she just showed up for it.

Yes, they would call ahead for permission to attend the meeting. Then the president would announce if there was a candlepass. We may not have known the ladies, but who doesn't love a candlepass and a chance to meet a new sister?
