In the aftermath of killer tornadoes in the Tuscaloosa area and the University of Alabama Greeks banded together to make hot food, collect supplies, deliver meals and raise funds for tornado relief. The Greeks assisted in making 52,000 meals, stored food and assisted as needed. The Greeks eventually raised $180,000 for tornado relief. Fraternity chapters used kitchens for cooking and sorority women collected food supplies and helped in relief efforts until professional relief agencies arrived.
