Fantastic article! It was almost two years ago when my mother died, and I, too, received a lopsided amount of help through the abyss from the Greeks in my life. The author of "What It Truly Means To Be Greek" is still in school, while I graduated *mumble mumble* years ago. Sisters I hadn't seen in 10-20 years were there for me.
It really feels good to see something good about the Greek System in a non-Greek publication!

So true, honeychile... same here. When my Mom died 5 years ago and I looked up at the funeral and saw my Pledge Trainer and 8-10 other Chi Omega sisters enter the church, I was overwhelmed with the feelings of love and support. They have been with me through 30+ years of happy times and sad.

Fantastic story! I'm especially proud of how the Purdue Greek community came and supported Claire during such a difficult time. It's nice to know that the Greeks at my alma mater are still a great bunch of people.

Gotta love this. When my MIL passed in March 2009, some of the UBC Alpha Phi alumnae invited me to the senior brunch to get me away from my crazy broke assed in-laws. They even picked me up from the sky train. Trust me, they were a lifesaver, because I was 2 shakes from killing my psycho bitch sister in law!
