Crossing party lines should be a necessary part of any election. Just because one issue is important to a party, does not mean that the candidate in your area will endorse it.
In fact, a Rep. Governor in a democratically controlled house (like we have in Mass.) has been good because the government is not so one-sided.
@ Ms Onyx, mentioning unions, I supposed the unions decided to forego the usual democratic ticket and vote republican. I am very interested in knowing why.

I didn't have an election in my city to vote in yesterday, but I have crossed party lines in the past. Like StraightBOS said, I don't hesitate to do it. If I feel a candidate is better for the job or shares my views on certain issue of importance to me, then I'll do it again.
I remember a discussion on this board during last year's election and debating whether or not we as African-Americans are taken for granted by a particular party. It would be interesting if more of us did it and shake things up a bit.
