Philanthropy Day craft ideas
I'm the incoming president of Beta Delta and my VP Recruitment and I are considering changing the craft we do during the Philanthropy round of formal recruitment. For ages we've had the girls bead purple and black bracelets that we're supposed to hand out during October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but since I've been here, we've never actually handed them out.
I guess one option would be to make an effort to actually publicize Domestic Violence Awareness Month and hand them out, but we would really like to do something that could go directly to help the local women's shelter. An idea that our national consultant had was to make mini "diaper cakes" to give to women with infants that come to the shelter, but I think that would be too expensive (our inter-sorority council limits the amount we can spend each day). Another idea was to stuff backpacks with school supplies for the kids at the shelter. But yet again, it would just be an issue of money.
Any ideas of philanthropy day crafts that take less than 45 minutes and don't cost that much would be appreciated!
