The boy (who should have been part of Siskel & Ebert) insisted that we see the movie - I think he was worried that it was a chick flick and it looked better to have said chick with him.
I liked it up until the scene before the new girl's name is mentioned. Somehow, it brought back memories of a non-romantic relationship I had with a wonderful guy for whom I didn't have "that feeling" and I got very depressed (he ended up committing suicide, but not because of me). We discussed it afterwards, and concluded that everyone has a "Summer" in their life, and it's a matter of learning to deal with the change of emotions.
I think if there was one more scene - a buffer, if you will, between the bombshell and the last scene (loved her name!), I would have had a chance to feel really good about it. As it is, I'd recommend it to people I thought could handle it.
