NPHC help

I have no idea where to post this - figured this might be the place.

I have two lovely students who are both interested in pursuing membership - one in AKA, one in ZPhiB. This came up when I was discussing NPC recruitment after class with some of my other students.

They both know members of the sororities - they asked me some general questions about intake, and I told them that all I knew was that discretion is key (), grades are important and they should ask the members they personally knew for any information regarding membership. My question - did I handle it correctly? Is there anything I can tell them that would help them? I certainly don't want to swerve out of my lane, but if there is anything I could do to help them I would like to - they would both be an asset to any group.

Sounds about right. The most important thing that they can do is interact with the members that they know both in their communities and on their campuses, those members will be able to give them more information when the time is right.

If you would tell them anything else, though it seems to me that you have done enough, you might suggest that they look at the national websites.

You did a very good job! Yes discretion is the key and one of the most important things that you can do is point them to the websites for the sororities that they would like to join.
Getting to know members of the sorority also helps, but let them also know that their attitudes, behaviors, and actions on campus are also looked upon.

I agree with everyone else. It sounds like you gave them some good info. If they do come to you again, they should also know that being involved in their community/campus is also important.
