Visiting Houses at Other Schools
Sorry if there's already a thread about this. I couldn't find one that was ADPi-specific.
I'm driving from Kansas to Texas over spring break and was hoping I could stop in at one or two of the ADPi houses on the way. Unfortunately, every college in America seems to have chosen the same week for spring break this year.
Do some houses have house moms or someone available to give tours over breaks? If not, should I just creep around the outside, take a picture and move on?
The schools I could visit would be Oklahoma, OSU, North Texas, TCU, maybe Baylor, Texas or Texas A&M. But really, I'm just curious about what different houses do.

SARAH. Are you positive that you have the same break as TCU? If we luck out and have different breaks, COME VISIT ME! I will be living in the house again this spring!
Just for reference- the A&M house is great. Baylor does not have a house to my knowledge and OU doesn't have an ADPi chapter (but those houses are pretty AMAZING).
In other news, I may be coming to KU in early April. I will keep you posted.

Our break is March 14-22 (or 15-20 if you don't count the weekends). I think that was TCU's break as well, but I could be mistaken.
After some investigating, I did find that Baylor didn't have a house. We're going to Dallas, so Waco is a pretty long drive anyway. And I really thought that OU had an ADPi? I guess I just assumed, lol.
Do keep me posted about your visit. April is usually a busy month for us, so you might be in town for some kind of fun event!

I'm sad to report that you were right- we have the same spring break. Let me know when you will be around TCU anyway- I'm not sure what my SB plans are yet.
OU does not, OSU does have a chapter though.
I will definitely keep you posted about April!

I stayed at a few adpis houses on my drive cross country a few years ago. Even though schools might be on spring break there might be some sisters that are still going to be on campus and staying at the house. Your best bet is to contact the president of the chapters youre thinking about visiting and see if she can help you figure out some details. Good luck! I had a great time meeting sisters and checking out the houses so its an experience I definitely recommend!

Hi all,
When I was a Delta member, I too stayed at other ADPi houses when I was in the grueling process of interviewing at different graduate schools. It was such a fun experience. I just wrote each chapter and even those chapters where they only had a lodge, there was someone at each and every chapter willing to host me for the night. So even though you might be visiting some schools during their spring break, still contact them and see. You never know; there might be some ADPis around because they're student teaching or whatever!
litb,
Melanie
