What are reasons someone wouldn't make it through pledging?

I know a girl who got a bid from a sorority and accepted it, but she isn't in the sorority anymore. i dont know what couldv'e happened during her pledging process..

It probably came to the point where they had to strip down and let the actives circle all their fat in Sharpie and she just had too much fat.

The fact is, anything we tell you would be speculative, and very likely had to do with confidential proceedings.

Best to ask the affected party.

It really is none of your business.

It could be either party who terminated the relationship for a number of legitimate reasons. Use your imagination.

I think it was because she wouldn't fit into any of their ritual catsuits.

They kicked her out so that they can give you a bid instead. You should drop by the house this afternoon so they can give it to you.

^^^ Couldn't be that, everyone knows that, thanks to the power of Polly Esther, all catsuits are one size fits all. Seriously. Where've you been, amIblue? Are you one of those fossil GCers who was initiated prior to the advent of plastic?

Now the other parts, like the Violet Volcano and the rhinestone sequin stocking things - I can't speak to that, you know. I mean, really? I'd have to hurt you.

You have xo after your name... are you a member of a sorority? If you're not, you ought to rethink your username. If you are, then I find it hard to imagine how you would not already possess this information.

She isn't a sorority member, but she goes to a school without Chi O. I assume she is using xo for kiss hug. She's already annoyed a few with her prior posts and is well known on GC over the past few weeks.

Well, you see, that was part of the problem. Even Polly Esther's power couldn't get her into that catsuit. The sorority was left with no choice. They had to get rid of her.

I have no comment on my age. That's beginning to be a sore subject.

The only thing I can think of is she probably didn't have the heart to continue.

I can think of several legitimate reasons.

1. Risk Management issues arose (i.e. drinking and making a fool of themselves while representing group)

2. Disconnect with pledge brothers/sisters

3. Disrespecting members

4. Loss of interest/not being around enough (happened this semester for us, one guy was never around due to work and someone spotted him not wearing his pin in class)

5. Not understanding commitments

You can fill in more, but I think you get the point.

I would guess that it was because the pledge dropped out, and that could be for a variety of reasons from she figured out she couldn't afford it, figured out she didn't have the time, discovered there were no unicorns pooping rainbows, or just in general wasn't feeling it. It happens a lot, maybe a couple girls per pledge class per year. A few will re-pledge to a new sorority but for most that's the end of the line for them. They gave it a shot, it didn't work out, they moved on.
