Overall, greek life in Oklahoma (and Texas) is more like that in the south, except for fraternity rush. Fraternities, at the larger greek systems in these states, definitely are unique in that they rush high school seniors, and grads, before their freshman year begins. They often move into the house as pledges. That type of recruitment is common in the great plains, and the western part of the midwest.
