All that you did is lose muscle. When you're done with your little "break from nutrition" you have actually slowed down your metabolism.
Weight loss is only like 10% drastic change. That's why so many New Year's Resolutions don't work. The other 90% is persistence and sheer hard work! You have to do the research, put the time into planning a menu (that includes...say...food) and get into the gym. A big out-of-the-gate new diet (a la Atkins or Weight Watchers) only works if you have the willpwer to keep up the change in your way of eating!
