IFC has voted no to a colony that has made a movement for full membership in ifc (charter). The greek advisor is outraged and is going to the university president to over rule the decision, the university is a private one.

Can we not have NIC tell them that the university can't just magically make them a chapter at the university when the vote has already been taken in IFC? it was voted on and that result was no.
Sorry there.. I get it. Misread.

Well the chapter does not need IFC's consent to recieve a charter. It doesn't work like that, they are an organization unto themselves. Many organizations (I know Sigma Nu) require a letter from the Greek Life Advisor, IFC, etc. in order to grant a charter. You may as IFC wish to send a letter of disapproval -- or simply call their HQ and explain the situation to them.

Most fraternities would not want to give charters to groups like that. They are liabilities.
