Although I hasten to add that whatever history the orgs may share, it doesn't guarantee that on any given campus the two chapters will be related (it's a bit like the Monmouth Duo, Farmville Four, Macon Ga stuff -- the orgs histories intertwine, but the individual chapters may or may not get along.)
I'm fairly certain that the above is false.

Also (for the sake for PNMs who may be reading, not picking on you):

Shared history does not equal "sister sorority or brother fraternity."

Example: Just because a Kappa Sigma member is mentioned in our history, does not mean Kappa Sigma is our brother fraternity.

This is one of my bigger pet peeves. You just don't know how many freshman sorority members will say "we learned in NM ed that __ is our brother fraternity."
