I wanted the oppertunity to become involved with promoting unity and friendship among my fellow college women. I am a junior at my school, I am a business major and I am a member of NAACP. I have always wanted to join an organization, but once I got into college I wanted to do a little more research on what each sorority on my campus had to offer as well as the organization in general. I have witnessed the increased impact one organization has had on campus life and I really want to be a part of that. I want to contribute to being a positive role model for students on campus academically as well as with the works the organization does on campus and in the community. After seeing what I wanted in one particular organization, I had to make sure I was very accurate on my history. The sisterhood is so deeply rooted, I dont plan on loosing my morals, I dont plan on sleeping with men, and I dont plan on being something I'm not. I would be happy to be a part of an organization that was built upon service and sisterhood. I have everything in order except my GPA. At my school, we need a 4.0 and I have a 3.6. If my school doesn't take a line after this semester again until my senior year, then, I will have no choice. I dont want the members to be disappointed because I did not pledge like I want to. Should I be worried about the women in the organization? Because if everything else is "on point" next year and everyone sees that...wont that be a good thing? Or will the fact that I didnt do it sooner over ride the fact.
lol--I get the "rush" answer. I have never known a school that requires a 4.0 for greek life. A high gpa always looks good. All jokes aside, we can't speculate about your chances here. Visit the national website of the organization of your interest, and check the org's forum here. All have sticky posts at the top that give you an overview of code of conduct here on gc. Search plenty, and good luck.
