Someone asked me....
"Are you in a sorority?"
I decided to not be snarky that day and explained the difference....
"Whatever they still the same thing...are you in one or not 'cuz I wanna join."
.....yeeeeeaahhhh
OK...and not calling anyone out....Senusret...I told you this one...hehehehehe
How about I went to a party for the coming out of some XYZ sisters.
$5 for Gen Public
$2 for Greeks in 'nalia
I went with 2 of my homeboys, Omega Psi Phi bruhs....
(no they weren't Deltas BTW....hehehe ...don't infer from the Omega reference!)
we got to the door...they paid and went in...
The young lady (neo soror) charged me $5
"But it says $2 for Greeks"
long slow stare as I see her trying to translate my letters
" I didn't know the Ques changed thier colors "
"They didn't."
"But aren't you a Que?"
"No."
"Then what are you?"
My Omega friends and I are cracking up at this point...but I am still no closer to getting in....heh.
"Read my Jacket"
"Phi....wait...he's not a Sigma because that's an "O" ...Omega?... Patti (I have to change the names to protect the innocent and I don't remember them anyways but you know where this is going....) What letter is O in the alphabet?
" Huh? O is O!"
"No in the Greek alphabet?"
"Girl! I don't know...that's not important! I gotta run and find the DJ!"
( The Dj was an hr and a half late but that is another story!)
"Sir, I don't think I can let you in unless you pay regular admission, because you aren't a regular Greek..."
We are falling out laughing by now...and just then two of their sorors (one my sands) comes in and wonders why we holding up the line.
They explain what's going on and their sorors more or less tells them to stop BSing around, let me in, and for the hassle, let me in for free, and when they complain about not getting my loot, they tell them well whose fault that you can't read my letters?
Someone says...don't blame them, blame their dean.
