Well I think the newer heads (not new, not seasoned) are in a unique position because they are closer in age to the undergrads but not so close that they don't understand the business side of the sorority and how hazing impacts it. Some undergrads just don't get it no matter how much you preach to them because they are not mature enough yet and they are passionate and emotional about how they feel. But in my experience, it's the newer heads that are able to reach them the most. Many of them understand that hazing and pledging are two different things in the undergrad's mind and that what many of them want is a process that they can be proud of...that they have contributed their ideas to. Until their ideas are considered, change is slow coming although I do think that the sororities have a fighting chance because I never thought that things would change as much as they have. Hazing among the fraternities, on the other hand, is a whole different beast.
