It is interesting that you say this because I, too live in Ohio and I have yet to encounter this. If anything, I feel like I almost have to beat non-blacks off with a stick when it comes to my hair. Some are fascinated by and want to touch it. When I had braids I was always asked "how long does it take to do", "how much does it cost" and of course the ever popular "can you wash it?" (). These questions were normally followed by "oooooh, it's so pretty" and "I LOVE your hair!"

I never felt like my natural hair was taboo. Maybe it depends on what part of Ohio you live in. ::shrug::

Anybody have any tips on doing your own two-strand twists? Mine always come out crazy (never look uniform).
