It is interesting that you say this because I, too live in Ohio and I have yet to encounter this. If anything, I feel like I almost have to beat non-blacks off with a stick when it comes to my hair. Some are fascinated by and want to touch it. When I had braids I was always asked "how long does it take to do", "how much does it cost" and of course the ever popular "can you wash it?" (
). These questions were normally followed by "oooooh, it's so pretty" and "I LOVE your hair!"
I never felt like my natural hair was taboo. Maybe it depends on what part of Ohio you live in.

Anybody have any tips on doing your own two-strand twists? Mine always come out crazy (never look uniform).
