If what they're reporting actually is harssment, it's not harassment to report it. There's a fine line between being mean/blunt and being harassing. It's perfectly proper to call a moderator or John's attention to something which an individual thinks may be over the line. On a side note, how do you know you are currently being reported "constantly"? Did someone tell you this? Or do you just assume this is occuring?

You did the proper thing in bringing up your disagreements with the moderators of this forum up to John. That's the proper path to take.

John saw this thread. He also moved the third one back in so it could be discussed. He said he would keep an eye on it. Yet, it was deleted by someone in here. I say if John saw nothing wrong with it, it should have been allowed to have stayed. If offending posts violate the TOS, then delete them.
Since moderators don't get paid, sometimes the 'nuclear option' (removing the thread entirely) is much easier than giving it a careful pruning. Especially once it's 8 pages long and has devolved into a dramafest. We don't always have the time or energy to make everyone happy, so sometimes, in our haste, we do what we think is best and remove the thread. I've done it on rare occasion myself.

But, just because someone doesn't particulary care for the topic doesn't mean the whole thread should be deleted because of a couple of posts. THAT is my point. I have PM'd him on the subject. He read through thread two or three and saw nothing wrong with it. That is why I am reposting it. If he pm's me back and says he changed his mind, fine. But, until then, I stand by the thread and its subject matter.
The thread and its subject matter stating you have a right to an opinion? I don't think anyone disagrees with you so long as you express yourself in a TOS compliant way (not to insinuate that I know you've done otherwise because honestly, whether or not you're violating the TOS in a forum I don't moderate is not on my radar screen).
