Yeah, but some schools take patrolling parties too far. Baylor's cops seem to do a lot more with busting up parties near campus than they do at protecting students' cars the parking garage, so that's pretty ridiculous. So did, "Thou shalt not kill."
While break ins are certainly annoying and a part of what police should protect against, I doubt there have been any deaths involved. If I had to make a choice, I might give a little more interest to making sure people aren't wasted as well.
In fact, I'll be any police force would show more interest in alcohol and drugs than break ins.
