Pharmaceutical Sales
So I've been unemployed for two weeks and I've been looking for jobs everywhere until one of my previous coworkers told me to look into pharmaceutical sales jobs.
Well long story short in the past two weeks I applied to over 60 different positions and I have two phone screen interviews this week already. I'm really excited! I have no B2B sales experience, though I worked as an OR Tech for five years. I also purchased a book to help me prepare for my interview. Are there any other bases i should be covering? BTW, it really sucks being unemployed! |
Pharmaceutical sales are a strange animal, because you are not actually selling anything, you are talking the doctor into prescribing it. If you get to the point where you discuss compensation, I would be sure you are very, very clear on how you are getting paid.
Your medical background will help you, but I suggest you also consider sales of medical products/devices in addition to just drugs. Think about how well you could leverage your knowledge into a demonstration of an OR product's features. If you want some companies, PM me...I used to work in that area. |
