recruitment goals/ideas

Hey! I am filling out my application to be a recruitment counselor for our fall recruitment next year!

Part of the process is goals and ideas you'd like to see implemented.

So far I have...
--high numbers for formal recruitment
--have each house meet quota
--get togethers throughout the week to make them feel more comfortable.

These are all pretty common but I was wondering what are some goals/ideas you'd all like to see happen?

These are goals for a recruitment counselor? These seem more like chapter goals/Panhellenic Exec goals. As an RC, I'd say your goals should be that:
* 90% of your PNMs are matched with a sorority bid. Acheive this through encouraging open mindedness, discouraging tent talk and maintaining a positive attitude
* Each PNM has 24-hour access to you and is comfortable talking to you. You will accomplish this through a welcome gift for each PNM, providing them with your contact information and playing getting-to-know you games to break the ice.
* Provide PNM's with a positive Panhellenic experience by ensuring that each counselor knows the Panhellenic recruitment rules and what to do if a PNM (is late to a party, misses a party, no-show, gets cut from her top choices the night before prefs, hears a rumor about a sorority, takes a refreshment out of a recruitment party, etc.
* Marketing materials that encourage a pro-Greek campus, info about the chapters, why Go Greek, etc.
* Encourage upperclassmen to pursue recruitment/implement free junior/senior quota to encourage older students to come out, etc.

Whatever goals you choose, best of luck to you! Let us know how it turns out.

how about personalizing some of your goals-you know, like goals you would set for your interaction with the pnms in your rush group:

(perhaps something like this)

1) have a good relationship with each of the pnms in my group
2) help the pnms to understand the recruitment process
3) be unbiased in any advice i give a pnm
4) do my best to be available as much as possible to my pnms
5) be up-to-date on all npc and local panhellenic recruitment rules and
understand them fully
6) i will not violate any panhellenic recruitment rules
7) i will honor the disaffiliation requirement

Neutrality!

You have to be able to fairly aid a PNM when she's, for example, making a difficult choice between 2 chapters, one of which may be your own.

Some possible goals:

- Be accessible and approachable to all your PNMs
- Encourage your PNMs to remain in recruitment even if they are cut by their favorite chapters; they may find a match with their second or third favorite sorority
- Get to know all the PXs; don't just spend time with the PXs from your own sorority *
- Give unbiased advice to your PNMs.

* True story: When I was a PX, I was the only AEPhi who was deaffiliated for rush. The other PXs pretty much only hung out with the PXs from their own sororities, so it was pretty easy for the PNMs to look at each cluster of PXs and figure out the corresponding sorority. But the Sigma Kappa PXs made a point of including and socializing with me. As a result, my PNMs had me pegged as a Sigma Kappa. (Boy, were they surprised... :p)

In the recruitment I helped with, all the PXs were discussing how they were going to trick their PNMs. They all had friends in other chapters that they could subtly *greet* as they walked in the door of the houses. The PNMs were thoroughly confused :)
