strategic imperative
vertical
we'll circle around to this (aka put a pin in it)
let's touch base (*"touch base with me" ...blechhh)
outside the box
drill down to a more granular level
workaround
paradigm
backfill
driver's seat
teambuilding exercise
at the end of the day
impactful
same page
ducks in a row (get organized)
ballpark figure
pushing the envelope
bandwidth (do you have the "time/capability?")
blamestorm (pick a scapegoat)
stir-fry an idea in your think wok
bobbleheading (blankly nodding)
going forward (aka "in the future")
be a team player on this
'cause we need all hands on deck

way-ta be a team player on this one, annabella. your input on this one really added value to this whole situation. unsuck-it is just the kind of solutioneering website i like to see integrated into this convo. this is why the big guys upstairs see you as an upwardly mobile juggernaut.

I hate it when someone wants to "solution" a problem .. find a solution for a problem, ok or solve a problem, but solution is NOT a verb.

Ugh. That's terrible.

But now I want to tell someone on my team to "solute" something.

My co-worker says this CONSTANTLY. Drives me insane.

DrPhil 08-26-2010 06:41 PM

This is when I praise baby Jesus that I am not in an "office environment."

KSUViolet06 08-26-2010 07:23 PM

"At the end of the day..."

"Problem solve" used as a verb.

Part of me dies inside when I hear these.

What the hell else would it be???

A guy I work with loves to say "Check it out and make sure that everything is copacetic." Stop trying to sound intelligent. On top of that he says it "copastetic" which is just wrong!

This word absolutely grates at every fiber of my being.

PiKA2001 08-26-2010 08:25 PM

Some of those are new to me and just sound ridiculous! My personal picks are

It is what it is
Stay in your lane
Touch base with ....
By close of business..

The VP of my department says that constantly. It makes me want to leap over my cube wall and tear the walls down running around screaming about how stupid it is.

I've started responding "Yes, everything is FINE."
