Hey everyone! I've been lurking around here for some time now, so I understand that this thread should eventually get moved to "Recruitment Stories." Anyhoozle, in 2.5 weeks (:eek:) I'm going through sorority recruitment at the University of Minnesota, in the lovely Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

First off, the U of M has 10 Panhellenic sororities, many of them single-letter chapters (ooh, history!):

In a bid to show a bit of Minnesota pride, this recruitment story is dedicated to 10 of the many greats to come out of the Land of the 10,000 Lakes. The names are in no particular order and have nothing to do with the sororities themselves (not that I know anything about them besides the fact AEPhi is historically Jewish, because my aunt was one at Cornell).

Now up for vote: shall I do a live recruitment thread or a retrospective?

As long as you can safely keep it nice and pretty general, go ahead and do it live. It may help you think through what you've just experienced that day. It might also be interesting to share your thoughts vs tent talk. But if postponing feels safer to do, by all means, wait.

Thanks for the thoughts people! I think I'll stay as incognito as possible--it's not like there aren't any other Minnesotans going through U of M recruitment.

Speaking of great segues, DubaiSis, do you actually live in Dubai? I've always been fascinated by the Gulf countries--not to mention the horse race there with the hat and fashion contest!

Live is great -- but I suggest that you move the thread to "Recruitment Stories" in the Recruitment folder.

How do I move the thread? I didn't see any sort of button or menu for it when I hit "edit."

Forget rush, I want to be at a party with all of those people. :)

I think you're good with a live thread, just don't tell us anything distinguishing whatsoever about yourself.

Nah, that's a way-North Rose from the Golden Girls type-thing. I think it was the "segue", honestly.

I don't think I've ever seen a full episode of The Golden Girls. I'd stumble across it while channel surfing but never could last more than a minute or two.

You can't move it; only an administrator or mod can do that. I'm guessing that when people said you might want to "move" it, they meant start a new thread in the Recruitment Stories forum.

Hey, I am more than willing to lose at life if it means I don't have to sit through The Golden Girls. That's called turning a loss into a win.

Nah, I don't watch anything hosted by Louie Anderson, unless it's for the cheesy local commercials :D

Wouldn't that be overkill? Not being cynical, just an honest GreekChat etiquette question.
