Lord Jesus Light to the World

I pray to you Lord Jesus Christ, to make this topic widely read and divinely inspired by your words, your wisdom, and your teaching. Please make the members and the guests read or reply to this topic after your teaching thru me in each lesson. Amen.

(Administrator of this forum I hope you don't mind by my using this forum for Lord Jesus Light to the World. It will be one lesson per day or close to it. So it won't be cosidered spamming if I do one lesson per day or close to it. I am going to reply within this topic, not going to create another thread daily)

First lesson from Lord Jesus thru me.

Mark 4:21-25

Parable of the Lamp
21 Then Jesus asked them, "Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine.22 For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light.23 Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand."
24 Then he added, "Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given*—and you will receive even more.25 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them."

Drolefille 05-24-2006 05:21 PM

I don't really have a problem with this, but if you're going to be teaching lessons... don't just quote the gospel. That's a lesson from Jesus through Mark...

Rudey, You are a bad Boy, but still funny as hell!

Thank You!:D

valkyrie 05-24-2006 10:15 PM

If you're concerned about masturbation, you must read this little beauty.

Hey, look, or whatever your name is, are you Mormon?

Tom Earp 05-24-2006 10:20 PM

Is that spelled Mormom, or Moron?

Just want to make sure I understand!:D

PiKA2001 05-24-2006 11:56 PM

See people, this is what happens when you start a thread about your favorite sin.

17. Avoid people, situations, pictures or reading materials that
might create sexual excitement.

Is sleeping considered a "situation"?

I guess some us should never sleep then. :o

I love this one!

19. In very severe cases it may be necessary to tie a hand to
the bed frame with a tie in order that the habit of
masturbating in a semi-sleep condition can be broken. This
can also be accomplished by wearing several layers of
clothing which would be difficult to remove while half
asleep.

I seriously can not believe people write things like this, let alone think them.

Yes go ahead make fun of me but don't worry Lord Jesus is with me. But I won't insult you people back.

Topic of the next lesson reminds me that I won't insult you people back.

Next lesson:

Luke 6:27-35

Love for Enemies

27 "But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you.28 Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also.30 Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don't try to get them back.31 Do to others as you would like them to do to you.
32 "If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!33 And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!34 And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return.
35 "Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.36 You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.

Where did Jesus say to quote the gospel? (And by "gospel" I'm not sure what we're referring to.)

Anyway, to the OP, what are you doing? Drollefille is on track. You're halfway to proof-texting. All you need to do to complete the act is to present your own interpretation.

The Bible doesn't speak for itself to people who don't know the context.

Well, considering the gospel was, as yet, unwritten during Jesus' life (and for at least another 30-100 years after that, depending on the book) I believe that Jesus didn't say a word about quoting the gospel. Either way.

I'm certainly not saying that it is WRONG to quote a gospel, but only quoting it is not a lesson. And if anything it is Mark or Luke passing the lesson on.

I can pick up a Bible, but when I come to GC for my high quality religious education, I want my HIGH QUALITY! :p

Serious question -- are you saying that presenting one's interpretation is a good thing or a bad thing?

Bad thing when it's not grounded in the context. Sola Scriptura paved the way for madness, in my opinion.

Did y'all see Julia Stiles on Leno? She was saying that in one of the eastern European countries where they were supposed to film, some Christian group burned down the set, so they were forced to improvise.

Have mercy. It's pure foolishness.

However, it is not quite as scary as the fact that these people in Hollywood keep remaking old movies. GET SOME NEW IDEAS OR I'LL GIVE YOU ALL THE END OF THE WORLD.

Yet another reason why I welcome the end of the world because apparently we have ran out of movie ideas. :(

That's a complete fabrication and an insult to all those dedicated movie makers in Hollywood sitting on their asses at Starbucks.

And I bet the next thing you're going to tell me is that they make second-rate American remakes of great international films...why show some dumb movie about soccer when you can have Jimmy Fallon (who can never remember his lines) and Drew Barrymore swap spit over one of the most famous stories in baseball.

I agree but having a remake of the omen on 6/6/06 is just freaking brilliant.

If you have to re-make something, that is.

This should be their last one though, nothing can top this.

Haha, I wonder if the church protesting davinci code will protest this.

There is debate whether or not 666 is actually the mark of the beast. Some scholars believe that translation errors and shoddy research has turned 666 into what should really be 616. I guess on thursday we'll see if the sky turns red or not.

You can send Martin a thank you letter care of my boyfriend's parents.

My favorite part of that whole doctrine is the Lutherans who talk about sola scriptura but then cite Luther's works. Those sure aren't in the Bible. ;)

I'M STILL PISSED THAT THEY WERE ON THE FIELD.

If I still was in touch with the Farrelly's, they'd so have heard from me then.
