New Movie Coming Out...
Anybody going to see DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN tomorrow?
It looks like it will be very good based on the previews I have seen. Today, I heard the author (aka Madea) say on the Tom Joyner show that it's similiar to the play but there are a lot more surprises in store. I just wished they could have picked a better light skinned brother than the dude with the braids from SOUL TRAIN / Young and the Restless. He's just so feminine:rolleyes: looking. We've been strategically planning our come back since 87, but I think a guy like that will set us back another 15+ years. Anyway, tomorrow, I'm going to see it. |

BobbyEarl, I heard Tyler wanted to cast you but he was afraid your masculinity would be too overpowering. :o |

That's ok. Tyler doesn't have to cast me. "We gone make a comeback" anyway... in the name of our great leaders, MAX JULIEN and AL B SURE! |

I suspect this will be a very good movie. Have you ever seen any of his plays? |
Just thought I'd throw in that Kimberly Elise's mom is my chapter soror. :D
|
I'm going to see the movie tonight with my BEST friend who's coming up to visit for the weekend. We're going to rewatch the play before we see the film.

A woman (I think Madea's daughter) asked Madea how can you tell if your man is cheating on you. Madea said, "Hell, if you're asking, he done already cheated.":D I also like when Madea talked about the difference between 20, 30, 40 and 50 year olds. Tyler Perry is a very talented brother who seems to have been influenced HEAVILY by strong black women in his life (probably more from his grandmother). I can't wait to see the movie tonight. |

I've seen Madea's Class Reunion and Madea Goes to Jail live. My fave play is Diary of a Mad Black Woman. :D You know Tyler is from New Orleans, right? |
I just came from seeing it. GREAT MOVIE!! I bawled during the church scene. :o
I want the soundtrack. :D |

It came in as #1 this weekend!!! Even though we are in separate cities, my mom and I saw the movie togather. :D Such a good movie, I will definitely go see it again in a few weeks when less people are in the theater. I cheered when Charles walked to the front of the church as I bawled. I did ROFLMAO though when he was in the tub blowing bubbles. LMAO |

GIRL THOSE BRAIDS were HORRIFICALLY HELLACIOUS!!!! :( And then to accessorize them with bandanas -- HAAAAAAAATED IT!!! **snap snap** |

I went to see it on Saturday, but the first 3 shows were sold out! I'm trying not to call my "middle man". :p  Tyler's next movie: Madea's Class Reunion |

So maybe he was born in the NO and moved to ATL at a young age or vice versa. Who knows? BTW, I saw the movie. It was really good. The guy who plays her husband was LOW DOWN. He had a DAYUM good wife. I don't care if he did go to the front of the church and asked to be saved, she should have left him in that house STANKIN! Then again, I guess by helping him, she was able to get over him and move on. I liked the ending. It reminded me of OFFICER AND A GENTLEMEN. |

Why couldn't he just wear his hair the same way he wore it on THE BROTHERS. But nooooooo, he has to try and look thugged out, knowing dayum well he ain't a thug. Then he wears matching bandanas to compliment whatever color he is wearing. Real thugs don't accessorize like that. They could have got the guy that played Q from THE BEST MAN. They could have got the guy that played RICKY from BARBERSHOP. Instead they get someone who gets his eyebrows arched twice a week. |
I saw the movie Friday night and loved it! Didn't love the "situations" at the theater (waiting on friends and they were late, so we had to sit in the VERY front, and talkers behind me) but I will be going to see it again. This time, by myself!
btw, there was more after the credits ran, but my friends left during the credits. That's why I'm going to see it by myself - I usually don't leave until the credits are done becaue you may miss something good! |
Tyler attended HS in the NO. He's from NO. He's "based" in the ATL.

Yes, and the sad part is that he's STILL rocking the braids!! :o  |

I am going to see it again when less folks are apt to be in the theater. |
I didn't stay? Send me a PM and tell me what I missed.
BTW, this PM stuff is so cool. I just really started doing it this year. That's ashame, too. I've been on GC since 2001. |
I haven't had time to go see the movie yet ;), but perhaps this Friday will be a good day to do so. :D
