Favorite Nalia or Org Item
What is your favorite piece of paraphernalia that you have received/purchased since being a member of your org? It can be anything that is ORG specific.
FYI FYI FYI: ANY MEMBER of ANY ORG can reply to this thread. :) |
this is easy
u did say anything, right?? aiight...
my CERTIFICATE...my PIN...my RITUAL LOL seriously, my favorite pieces are an elephant with my crossing info on it that my spec gave me when i crossed (my first elephant) and a ceramic figurine my advisors gave me as a graduation present |
all these folks lookin' & no one is talkin'
Well I have several favorites (were you surprised):
1. My Delta artwork 2. Figurine: Delta Girl jumping rope 3. DST Photo Album that this Delta named Kelli bought me :p 4. Elephant desk thingie (LOL -- 4 elephants together) one of my favorite students bought it for me one Christmas. :D 5. FORGOT -- my Coca-Cola Stuffed Elephant that is wearing a red and white striped tank top. Ellie was given to me at my show from my mama. :D |
A six foot paddle made by the line for which I was Dean in undergrad. It has the letters cut out vertically at the top, then a heart in the middle built to open like a french door. When your open it the inside says "What words can we use, to say how we feel". Then the bottom of the paddle has all of their names woodburned into it and their crossing date.
|
I think my favorite gifts are:
1. The silver pin case with the crest engraved on the top and my name and Spring 2002 on the bottom. 2. Pearl bracelet with small elephant charm at the hook. 3. A lamp with a jar filled with peppermints as a base and two Delta girls with the symbols on the shade. The best part about this gift is that when you turn the light on, my name pops up. It's only visible when the light is on. It is sooooo cute! |

That does sound nice!!
My stepmother bought me back the most beautiful elephant from Jamaica and I really love it! I also made a crimson and cream rya rug last year that has been stolen from my crib twice. It had pyramids thorughout the pattern. An eighites delta tee shirt design that a Zeta friend gave me. Classic 80's all the way! No oneelse can find the design and they loathe me for having the only one. HHHAHAHAHHAH |
I, too, have more than one
1) A blanket made for me by my spec.
2) My Founder's Paddle (I LOVE THIS!!!!) 3) A figurine that I bought from the Kappa's Conclave a couple years ago. 4) An AKA print that some friends gave me that is matted and framed (the one with the ladies eating cake, all orgs are represented in the print, by colors). |
A letter written by my Dean after we crossed and framed in a Delta picture frame..though I can't find it in my many moves, I'll always treasure it.
a small paddle made my by number with Lil' Sis and #3 on it. ;) a t-shrit that my favorite Kappa gave me |
A sterling silver elephant pendant and matching bracelet that my mother-in-law gave me for Christmas and the greek playing card shirt that my then boyfriend (now hubby) gave me the night I crossed. :D

Now all my stuff is not red/black or in my other colors. But if I'm shopping and I see something cute and wearable/usable in SLU colors, more than likely I'll buy it. |

MY RED DST TOTE BAG! <----This bag has held up a loooong way. i mean the way I have been stuffing this bag, its a wonder that it hasnt given out on me. I'm talking about books (BIG GRADUATE SCHOOL BOOKS), my laptop, my umbrella, my sweatshirt and lets not forget all the binders, notebooks, pens, pencils and highlighters I have. This bag is a miracle because it should have been ripped, tore or just completely worn out by now.
MY 3ft Ceramic Elephant (yess 3ft), that my God-mother (who happens to be a Delta) bought me for Christmas.:D This big thing still sits in my apartment and it is HEAVY to move. She bought it off someone, so I don't know where i could purchase one:confused: |
The wall one..

1. My spec paddle given to me by my dean. It is about 3ft. I has my letters carved out with a huge 7 at the bottom. On the seven there are headshots of each of my Jewels. In Old Gold is written all the lines that came through before me. Chapter bruhs are always trying to steal it.
2. My Ape that makes noise that was given to me by a chapter brother. 3. My first lapel pen that was given to me by a chapter bruh/Great Grand Spec. that I aspire to be like. |
1. My membership certificate :D
2. My mega paddle made by my special spec (club) 3. My black Delta bag that says "Delta Business" with my number that was given to me by my spec. 4. ALL of my pictures with my sands and pro's! |
1.) My New Jacket (given to me by my ls and best friend)
2.) My elephant charm bracelet (given to me by my mom) 3.) My Delta artwork and figurines. I LOVE THEM ALL. |
Purchased for myself: My white crossing jacket, made with great care by Unique Greek in Chicago.
Given to me: And yes, this is corny, but two close friends (a Delta and Zeta) got me a package deal from www.adgreek.com. I kinda knew I was getting it, but I was sooooooo happy when I got it. :D Given to someone else: I made my big in APO a three or four foot tall paddle. I retired from paddle making after that. That was over six years ago and I still haven't recovered, lol. |
I got a nailia, but if I had to narrow it down, it would be:
1. My gold & rhinestone poodle pin, given to me by a dear friend who is a Delta 2. My SGRho bag, I use it to carry everything! 3. My personally engraved business card holder. A friend who is a member of Phi Beta Sigma personally engraved it for me for my birthday, and it has all my crossing information on it. |
Thanks for allowing me to share!
1. My badge of initiation (1984) and my rescued jeweled badge (1929).
2. An engraved music box given to me by my collegiate chapter when I stepped down as their Chapter Adviser. 3. A simple Panda figurine brought back from China by a pledge sister. 4. Purchased for myself: my Life Loyal AOII membership! |
