|
I am really going to try and watch it tonight, because I want to hear what he has to say about the allegations. But dang... 11:30pm??? :o I don't know if I can make it. If I'm up past 10:30pm, I'm doing good!!! Yall, I'm getting old!

OKAY... I saw the interview last night... and, I'm no judge nor am I trying to persecute this man... BUT... I believe, in my heart, that R. Kelly is really guilty. I'm even MORE convinced now that he has done this interview. It seems to me that he was just basically RAMBLING about a bunch of NOTHING last night. Plain and simple, I feel that R. Kelly has dug a hole that he very well may not be able to get out of.
My friend (and co-worker) said that he's not the ONLY one doing stuff like this... and I totally agree. BUT, I told her that R. KELLY is the "flavor of the month" and you can believe that they are going to make an example out of him. My friend ALSO said that she kinda blames the young girls because they probably didn't tell him their REAL ages. I told her to THINK about it... these girls were MINORS (Heck, we work with these "fast" young girls every day) and I realize that they can be misleading. BUT... the key word is that they are MINORS. R. Kelly is AN ADULT who is experienced in sex and sexual activities (this is why we have the statutory rape laws). And according to what I've heard about the video, one of the young girls showed OBVIOUS signs (undeveloped breasts, NO PUBIC HAIR) that she was YOUNG. HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! My friend also thinks that he is not going to get any time even if he's found guilty because he's RICH and has these FANTASTIC lawyers. BUT... (and I'm sorry to say this) I SINCERELY believe that R. KELLY IS GOING DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he definitely HURT himself MORE than HELP last night. He would have gotten back a little more respect and support had he just come out with the truth. Instead, he continues to DENY it. Heck, Ed Gordon even turned questions around and asked them in a different ways and R. Kelly wasn't even able to answer the questions as he had previously. I'm sorry (and I like a lot of his music), but the interview last night gave R. Kelly a spot on many people's MAJOR Sh** list. All I can do is PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for the brother, because he is DEFINITELY going to need it. |
R. Kelly...
korkscru,
I have to agree with you. R. Kelly was being extremely evasive with his responses. I also believe the interview harmed him, more than it helped him. He wasn't able to come straight out and answer questions, and it was obvious to me that he was lying. I don't like to judge anyone, but it was so obvious. He really avoided the questions about Aaliyah. I understand he was trying to respect her, but I didn't think it would have been wrong for him to simply say yes I was married to her, or no I wasn't. It was his way of avoiding the question. I made sure I was up for that interview. I was calling so many people, just to stay awake. I was so proud of myself. :) |
The important thing is this case that separates it from others is the fact that is habitual. People, this was no "mistake" or a simple case of Rra being lied to. He sought these girls out. Girls say that he came looking for them. The one in the video was a minor niece to Sparkle. R Kelly was acquainted with the kid, and took advantage of her. Let us not forget the cases he has settled out of court. He belongs to a sick genre of men who prey on children. He is going to keep on doing it as long as he knows he can shell out money to pay for this nastiness.
As for Aaliyah, I respectfully disagree. I think their marriage was quite relevant to the issue at hand. He was legally married to her, and this is public knowledge. When that first came out, he denied it until the marriage certificate surfaced. Since the annulment, his official line has been "no comment. My point is, it seems the man has an extraordinary interest in teens. Wouldn't you agree? I hear that his present wife was also quite young when he began messing with her. I also understand that he has not been charged yet because the girl and her parents have refused to press charges because they have been paid. Can you say "pimp your daughter"? |
Quote:
Hey TLAW, I was just wondering who you were disagreeing with, because I was saying the same thing you were. He was completely avoiding the questions on Aaliyah. I do understand the issue of respect, because of her death, but I didn't think that was justification to avoid the questions, regarding his marriage to her. Also, I don't think Ed Gordon would have brought Aaliyah's name up, with the intent to disrespect her, but R. Kelly was trying to make it sound that way. I think the man is just a habitual sexual predator, but he has been able to cover it up with his money. |
Kissy, after reading all the earlier posts, I am hard pressed to find who I was disagreeing with! LOL!! Must have been another thread, or I am so sleepy I am typing like I crack head!
I agree, he defines the term "sexual predator". |
TLAW, you've taken most of the words right out of my mouth. R. Kelly definitely knows the ages of the young women he's had sexual relations with. I attended the same High School in which he was a graduate and I know for a fact that he was trying to lure the young ladies when I was there. I think its a shame that after 4 years he's continuing to do so. Yes his actions are habitual and have been for a very long time. All of Chicago has known about it for such a long time.
He's so stupid, it was like he was digging himself a hole. Ed Gordon asked him about previous cases and why he didn't decide to speak out about those. I can't even remember his words because he was babbling(sp) on and on about insignificant things Its like he didn't know what to say. I also don't understand that garbage he was saying about not wanting to view the tapes. Why wouldn't you want to see the tapes? I would. Ed Gordon asked his stupid butt if he'd taped the sexual escapades he's had with the adults. He still didn't want to answer the question. He's like a deer caught in head lights not knowing which way to go. He's lawyers should have counsled and prepared him a little more for his interview. All this time I didn't know that the young lady was related to Sparkle. For some reason I don't think she was forced, coerced, taken advantage of or whatever else. I think she knew full well what she was doing. R. Kelly is a sick individual but these young ladies aren't completely innocent. |
Thank you Candy. Interesting point, about the "innocence" of the girls. One issue I have is that if I had potato for every man who has been hit on by an underage girl, I'd have a french-fry empire.
Sadly, there are plenty of kids that would jump at the chance to be touched by a star. As a man, I have to be able to earn the trust society has put in me, and having sex with minors betrays that trust. We have a society of "fast" kids, but ultimately, the responsibility falls on the adults to maintain propriety. I totally agree that his performance was not his best. Forgive me, but for some reason, "Rra" was not as intelligent as I thought he'd be. I guess the stress must finally be getting to him. And, like Candy pointed out, couldn't his lawyers have prepped him better? As a fellow male, a small part of me hopes this is all a fabrication, but my logical side, coupled with the facts and history make believe the worst. If guilty, lock him up and melt the key; our children have enough to worry about. |
TLAW, I agree TOTALLY with your statement. SURE we have a younger generation of "fast-a**" girls/teens. WITHOUT A DOUBT they literally THROW themselves at stars and older men. OF COURSE they give CONSENT to participate in sex and other sexual activities with these stars and older men. I don't doubt this nor do I debate it. BUUUUUTTTT... these stars and older men HAVETO remember that we have a STATUTORY RAPE LAW and on top of THAT they must remember that THEY are supposed to be the WISER of the two. Thus they are EXPECTED to execute what our society calls GOOD JUDGEMENT and MORAL OBLIGATION.
No, I'm not a judge nor am I perfect. But I've ALWAYS known not to do no stuff like THAT (and I NEVER have). I WILL say this, I believe deep in my heart that R. Kelly KNEW!!! This is a man that was RAISED in the WORD, so he KNEW whether he was doing right or wrong. He's not retarded or dumb. He's a VERY street-smart man. So, even if those young girls lied about their ages, I believe that he was able to tell. Plain and simple, R. Kelly got caught with his "draws" down (LITERALLY)!!!! :D :D :D He's like a mouse caught in a trap... AROUND THE NECK!!! All I can say is BETTER HIM THAN ME!!!! |
IMO
Personally I think that the interview made matters worse. He wasn’t answering any of the questions and the ones he did “try" and answer (sigh):o ....... let’s just say he would have done better keeping his mouth shut. The only good answer he had was the one where he was asked “why don’t you watch the tape and say that’s not you?” I think that answer was the best one throughout the whole interview.
Now I’ve seen the tape and the dvd, and I can say without a doubt that that’s him, and the girl looks like she’s fresh out of the 8th grade! Now all I’m saying is, if Rra says it’s not him, why not go on a man hunt and look for this so-called “twin” of his and bring him before us so you can prove your innocence, hell it worked for Harrison Ford in “The Fugitive”. That’s the only way Rra’s gonna get out of this. And another part of the interview that really got on my nerves was him continuously saying I’m not perfect, I’ve done things in the past...ya da ya da ya da” Ed Gordon should have followed up with “Things like what?” It was so many good follow up questions he missed out on. I don’t think Ed did a good job on the interview, I wish my boy Tavis was doing it, we would have had all the answers and then some! I will watch tonight.....I won’t be surprised if he drops a couple of tears.:( |
I just got done watching a re-run of the R kelly Interview...and now I can honestly say that he is LYING!
I knwo there are many young ladies out there who are fast...but that is really not the issue...R.Kelley is older and he could have always said NO!! He knew how old those girls were... The other thing I want to comment on was the way he answered his questions....If I heard say one more times these lines "I;m not a criminal...." OR "I'm not the monster everyone thinks I am..... I am going to scream!! He rambled on and on and never really made any of points he was so desperately trying to get out.... Man I don't even know what to say.......... |
... which is exactly what I am trying to say, Korkscru. Who is the adult? I think the man knew. I am a youth athletic coach, and in my experience, you have to carry yourself above situations. With girls (I coach middle school girls during the Spring), I have realized that you have put yourself above reproach. Act like a man, and you'll be treated as one. No man should mess with a kid. If you are doing what you are supposed to, you won't end up being in situations where the girl "lied". I am so fed up of that being an excuse. Do ya have to jump in the sack with any mature looking female who smiles at you after a couple of hours?
What a man sees sexually attractive in a child is beyond me, but then again, I am not a muti-platinum recording artist with a fetish for almost pre-pubescent females. |
Quote:
AMEN, TLAW!!!!!!! Just because these young girls hit on ADULT males, it doesn't mean the men have to give in to the girls' advances. There's absolutely no excuse for it. Just as you mentioned, it's a matter of who's the adult. R. Kelly has liked "little" girls ever since he married Aaliyah.... and probably before that. |
Well TLAW and Krissy, I can see that we all are on the same wave. :D :D
I'm an QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional). I do intensive in-home counseling with youths (5-17 years---males and females) who are SEVERELY at-risk for out-of-home placement. So, I KNOW how CHALLENGING these kids can be...ESPECIALLY the teen-aged girls. I deal with this stuff EVERY DAY. You can't tell them ANYTHING. The majority of them are very resistent to ANY authority and/or adult direction. MANY times I have had to "remove" myself from situations that would have made me FORGET that I am an ADULT and a PROFESSIONAL. Since this stuff with R. (I mean, Rra) Kelly has developed, I have had time to read different articles about this and now the interviews. This is my professional OPINION, based on what I know to date (of course, I would haveto talk with him). But this is my opinion THUS FAR: THIS MAN WAS ABUSED (SEXUALLY, EMOTIONALLY, MENTALLY, AND POSSIBLY PHYSICALLY) AT SOME POINT IN TIME IN HIS LIFE. In conjunction with that, he has issues with loss and death (his best friend was killed and his mother died). All of the signs are there and maybe THOSE are the PROBLEMS that he keeps talking about. Now this is CERTAINLY NO EXCUSE whatsoever for what he's done. But it adds INSIGHT into a lot of stuff. Now, I'm one who FIRMLY believes (and I try to DRILL this into my teen-aged clients) that if you're not willing to deal with some of the significant issues and traumas that occur in your CHILDHOOD, then you can bet all that you have that it will come out when you're an ADULT (ALONG WITH all of your issues as an adult). THAT can be overwhelming and thus will cause adults to use poor judgement and act immorally and irrationally. It's not to say that you will FORGET or be "cured" of those things. But you'll be better able to COPE and FUNCTION more effectively. (Just for the record, I believe the same thing has happened to Mike Tyson...that's why he acts like such a FOOL today). Now on the SPIRITUAL SIDE, Rra Kelly is dealing with a DEMON that has plagued him since CHILDHOOD. Like I said before, he's a man that was RAISED IN THE WORD. So, he KNOWS what to do and what has to be done. |
Quote:
I did not watch either nights of his interview. However from what I have read on these boards and the listserve I belong to, his body language conflicts with his words. Like TLAW and you, I work with teenagers all the time. Some of them have "crushes" on me. However, there is not a bone in my body that encourages that crush or seeks to play that crush out on the physical level. I am not a superstar like R. Kelly but I do believe that along with his former abuse of some sort as well as the death of his mother has left him feeling inadequate. I also believe that his actions that he is currently being targeted for are of a "Suicidal" nature meaning that he is doing this to just kill his career and his success. Some people resort to drugs or gambling, but R. Kelly has resorted to having sex with teenage girls. Somewhere in his mind, he sees this as less dangerous to his career and life. |
Soror, you hit the nail right smack dead on the head.
I kinda figured that he had been abused in some way when I read the article in VIBE magazine (the one with his picture on the front). VIBE (May 2002 issue) wrote (and I QUOTE): "During the course of a two-day interview,..., the star's eccentricity was highly evident. It goes well beyond his documented refusal to wear underwear and his need to play basketball every night. Kelly admits he seeks solace in odd places." Now get THIS yall. This is what VIBE QUOTED R. Kelly saying during that interview. "I GET GREAT SLEEP IN CLOSETS.... IT'S MENTAL FOR ME. I KNOW THAT NOBODY IN THE WORLD KNOWS WHERE I AM AT THAT POINT". Now all of you counseling, psychology, and sociology majors (along with ANYONE else with any COMMON SENSE), if THAT is not a sign that SOMETHING happened to this man (at SOME point in his life), then I don't know what else is. I KNEW, particularly after reading his quote in VIBE that this man was dealing with some SERIOUS stuff. THAT MAN IS REALLY, TRULY, AND SERIOUSLY SICK (in the head). He has some kind of MENTAL HEALTH DIAGNOSIS (and you can BELIEVE that)!!!! |
**singing** He's Got Mad Issues
Now Soror
I remember a couple of years ago (99/00) when VIBE interviewed R. Kelly (I can't put my hands on said issue right now might be in a recycling process:p) but he said that he never wears underwear.:o  Not only that but this was a point in his life where he was not sleeping very much. He would go to the studio, record/write, go play ball, but no sleeping. I will look for said magazine issue this week if I get a chance. I have never slept in a closet. For him to find comfort in closets scares me because maybe he used to get put in closets as a child. :( |
Soror CT4, Girl, WE know that R. Kelly was abused (and I kinda have a feeling that OTHERS agree with us). Heck, R. KELLY knows that he was abused. He was abused FREQUENTLY and HARD. It's just so sad. All I can do is pray for him (and HIS victims). You see, THIS is how we get these sexual predators... Jeffery Daumer was abused. Mike Tyson was abused. Pee Wee Gaskins was abused. Heck, IKE TURNER was abused. :D :D I'm not saying this to be funny. I'm just saying that THIS is what I meant when I said that when PEOPLE don't deal with their childhood issues and traumas, when they become adults, stuff like this is more than likely the result. I just don't see HOW R. Kelly is going to get out of THIS mess. In MY opinion, ONLY God will be able to do that.
See, I KNEW that my soror would know what I'm talking about. :D Hey, CT4, it just goes to show that great minds DO think alike. :D |
I wonder if you show the tape to one of those " body language experts", will they be able to tell he wasn't telling the truth? All that blinking made me wonder, but I was being very critical during the whole thing.
I have to agree that Ed Gordon could have asked some better follow up questions. Something more like when Connie Chung interviewed Gary Condit and PUT HIM ON FRONT STREET. We were all like..." naw man you better starting digging out this man's backyard right now!!" |
R. Kelly's Brother on the Doug Banks Show
Did anyone else listen to the Doug Banks show this morning? R. Kelly's brother, Kerry, was on there to supposedly talk about his brother's situation. Unfortunately, he did not shed any new light on the situation. He did have his corny song played that was "reaching out" to R. Kelly and saying how he had his back. But then later he said that if he felt that the scandal was taking a toll on his career, he's a singer also, that he would sue R. Kelly? WTH? Did I hear this right? If not, can someone please tell me what was up?
|
Was this the same brother that was on one of those T.V. court shows? Where was this brother before all of the scandal broke loose?
|
Yeah this was the same brother that was on a TV court show. I guess he was just in the background. He stated that he used to tour with R. Kelly though.

R. KELLY - 21 Counts of Child Pornography!!!
HE HAS TO BE GUILTY - I KNEW IT!!!!
And that Interview DEFINATELY made him even more GUILTY....HA! CHICAGO SUN-TIMES http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/...s-kelly05.html R. Kelly indicted on child pornography charges June 5, 2002 BY JIM DEROGATIS AND ABDON M. PALLASCH STAFF REPORTERS R&B star R. Kelly was indicted Wednesday on child pornography charges stemming from a videotape that officials say shows the Grammy winner having sex with an underage girl, a source in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office said. A grand jury charged Kelly, whose first name is Robert, with 21 counts of child pornography, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. The court documents were not immediately released. The felony charge carries a prison term of up to 15 years, and a fine of up to $100,000. The source said a warrant had been issued for Kelly's arrest. "The charge is that there's a young lady under the age of 18 on that tape and there isn't. That's simply the stance that I'm taking. We're going to court and we'll disprove that she was underage," said Kelly's attorney Ed Genson. He said he had not seen the indictment. Genson said the girl's family members also have denied that she is featured on the video. He would not comment on the age of the girl or whether Kelly was the man on the tape. Previously Kelly has denied that he is the man shown in the video. Prosecutors have a videotape sent anonymously to the Sun-Times appearing to show R. Kelly committing various sex acts with a 14-year-old girl. State law prohibits producing or disseminating child pornography or soliciting a minor to participate in sex acts on tape or film. The Class 1 felony charge carries a prison term of up to 15 years, and a fine of up to $100,000. For more than three years Chicago police investigated charges that Kelly was having a sexual relationship with the then-14-year-old daughter of an associate. But the girl and her parents denied the allegations. The Sun-Times reported the investigation in a December 2000 story about Kelly's pattern of pursuing underage girls for sex. The big break in the case came in February when a videotape was sent anonymously to the Sun-Times. Kelly apparently made the tape of himself engaging in various sex acts--including acts involving urination with the underage girl. The tape was turned over to the sex crimes unit of the Chicago Police. Kelly has denied having sex with underage girls and maintained in a recent TV interview that he's not the man on the tape. Cook County State's Attorney Richard Devine impaneled a grand jury that heard dozens of witnesses identify Kelly and the teen on the tape and confirm that they had a sexual relationship. The tape was authenticated by the FBI, which determined it could not have been a forgery. Bootleg copies of the video are available for sale on street corners across the country--$10 for VHS, $15 for DVD. In recent years, Kelly has paid settlements to three young women who filed lawsuits or threatened to sue him over underage or coerced sexual relationships. A fourth woman has filed suit claiming Kelly coerced her into a sexual relationship when she was a minor, and he coaxed her to have an abortion. That case is pending. Yet another lawsuit was filed by a 33-year-old dancer who charges that she was unknowingly videotaped by Kelly during sexual relations. That case also is pending. Kelly has responded to the lawsuits by trying to tarnish the women's reputations. Before Tiffany Hawkins filed a suit she ultimately settled against Kelly, charging that he coaxed her to participate in group sex with him when she was 15, Kelly filed a preemptive suit against her for blackmail. That suit was dismissed. This week, copies of rap sheets for minor misdemeanors that Kelly's other accusers purportedly have been charged with have been sent anonymously to local news outlets. Kelly is hardly the first celebrity to be accused of taking advantage of young girls. Gary Glitter, Rob Lowe, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roman Polanski, Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and even the legendary Errol Flynn all have been the subject of news reports for allegedly having trysts with minors. Chicago police interviewed dozens of people who knew Kelly, the girl in the tape or both. Because the girl and her parents denied it was her, police and prosecutors reportedly had to build the case against Kelly around them. While police and other family members who were cooperating with the investigation grew impatient for prosecutors to charge Kelly, the Cook County state's attorney's office took months, it said, trying to make sure it had an ironclad case. Prosecutors were haunted by a case 14 years ago, when they had a similarly uncooperative witness who had been taped having sex with a man when she was underage. Prosecutors charged him anyway, and he was acquitted. Since then, the state's attorney's office has adopted a more aggressive stand. In 1995, Beverly Heard refused to testify that she and U.S. Rep. Mel Reynolds had sex when she was 16. They put her in jail for 13 days, until she agreed to testify. Reynolds was convicted. In recent TV interviews, Kelly insisted that, despite the controversy over the video purporting to show him having sex with a minor, he never felt compelled to seek out or watch one of the many bootleg copies of the tape. "If people out there have a tape of me and they're saying it's me and a young girl, a minor . . . then they're sadly mistaken or they're lying," Kelly said on BET. "I can say it with all confidence right here that it isn't me because I didn't do it. Nowadays, you can make a tape, you can make a song; it can sound like a person or look like a person . . . but that's not me." He did not explain how a 26-minute tape in which the protagonist is seen staring into the camera and adjusting it could be faked, a feat video experts have told the Sun-Times would be difficult even for a major movie studio to pull off. As the accusations against Kelly have mounted and the videotape of him has circulated across the country, his fellow hip-hop artists have distanced themselves from him. "Thong Song" singer Sisqo's new track, "This Is the Heart," offers the lyric, "The World's Greatest? Whatever! Ain't nothing but a child molester." Kelly's album with rapper Jay-Z, "The Best of Both Worlds," sold far less than expected when it was released in April. Industry executives blamed the scandal. Jay-Z refused to tour, make videos or even be photographed with Kelly after the police probe was disclosed. Rapper Nas recently told an L.A. audience, "We're not up here molesting children. We're not 'The Best of Both Worlds.' " Multiplatinum producer Dr. Dre has decided not to release a track with Kelly. Dr. Dre was quoted in the British newspaper New Nation as saying, "I haven't seen the video, nor do I want to see it because there's a kid involved. That's where I draw the line. You can do almost anything except touch kids or something like that. That's a no-no. You know what I'm saying? If he's guilty, he's over. I'm just waiting for the results." Ministers and community activists in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles have decried Kelly's behavior and urged boycotts of stores that sell his albums and radio stations that play his music. --------------------------------------------------------------------- R. Kelly's ups, downs January 1992 Kelly releases his debut album, "Born Into the '90s." It sells more than 1 million copies. November 1993 Kelly releases "12 Play." It sells 5 million copies. June 1994 Aaliyah releases her Kelly-produced debut, "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number." It sells 1 million copies. Aug. 31, 1994 Kelly and Aaliyah are married in Rosemont. Feb. 7, 1995 A Michigan judge dissolves the marriage. September 1995 Michael Jackson's Kelly-produced single "You Are Not Alone" becomes his first No.1 hit since his sex scandal. July 1996 Kelly is booked on battery charges in Lafayette, La., after a fight on the basketball court at a health club. Sources say Kelly desperately fears doing time in jail. November 1996 Kelly releases his third album, titled "R. Kelly." December 1996 The single "I Believe I Can Fly," from the "Space Jam" soundtrack, peaks at No. 2. Also, Tiffany Hawkins files a lawsuit against Kelly, charging that he encouraged her to have sex with him when she was underage. January 1998 Kelly pays Hawkins $250,000 to drop her suit shortly after she gives a 7-1/2-hour deposition about their sexual activities. April 1998 Kelly is arrested in Chicago for disorderly conduct after allegedly becoming verbally abusive when asked to turn down the stereo in his 1998 Lincoln. May 1998 The disorderly conduct charges are dropped. November 1998 Kelly releases his fourth album, "R." It sells 6 million copies. April 2000 Aspiring rapper Tracy Sampson, 17, begins having sex with Kelly, according to her lawsuit. November 2000 Kelly releases his fifth album, "TP2.com." It debuts at No. 1. December 2000 A Chicago Sun-Times report details Kelly's alleged trysts with underage girls. February 2002 A videotape anonymously sent to the Sun-Times appears to show Kelly engaging in sex acts with a 14-year-old girl. The Sun-Times turns the tape over to police. March 2002 Bootleg copies of the tape begin showing up for sale across America. April 2002 Kelly settles Sampson's lawsuit, even as another woman, Patrice Jones, files a new suit accusing Kelly of coercing her into a sexual relationship when she was 16. May 2002 A fourth woman settles with Kelly before filing a lawsuit, and a fifth, Montina Woods, 33, sues Kelly for invasion of privacy, saying she thought her sex act with him was private, then found out he secretly videotaped it. Kelly does TV interviews to deny the accusations in the lawsuits and say he's not the man in the videotape. June 2002 Kelly to be indicted for violating state child pornography laws. Dang, I bet that MF crying now!http://www.plauder-smilies.de/cry.gif
|
All I can say is he betta cover his booty...or some dude named Big Ike gonna be feelin on his booty.
|
I am to the point now.....when one of his songs comes on the radio I really feel like vomiting. SERIOUSLY! I have to change the station cause LAWD only knows what was going on in his mind when he made most of his songs.
A soror here in Chicago is freinds with the family of Sparkle and supposedly this young lady who was underaged in the video....R Kelly was HER FIRST. many people who I talked to questioned how she seemed to be so underdeveloped YET so experieinced in some of her repetoire:eek: I have always known how he along with another big NBA star who was once on the Chicago Bull team would go to local high schools and hang out waiting on these young ladies. This man is SICK and he desperately needs some help. Also, from what I understand because he was supposedlythe young girl's first and only experience (he had sex with her off and on for an extended period of time) her family fears that his deviant sexual behavior is the ONLY behavior she will now exhibit. It is trully sad. I dont care what anyone says about his music...as an adult HE had responsibility to this child. D.S.M.M.I. #12 Lambda 4-29-89 Chicago Alumnae |
Well, this is it. I TOLD my friend that they were going to make an example out of him, didn't I? These prosecutors are taking their time with this just to make sure that all of their ducks are in a row and he won't be able to beat the charges (with or without testimony from witnesses). Dang, that's DEEP!!! I can only IMAGINE what he's thinking and feeling right about now. I would imagine that he feels like I used to feel when I would get in trouble (when I was a child) and my mother told me to get the belt or a switch. But R. Kelly's situation is maximized like 1000 times. If I were him, I'd try to cut some kind of deal or something. Like Dr. Dre said, he's done. I'm just sitting here asking myself, "What in the WORLD did he do to the person in order for them to come out with that tape?" It HAD to be something serious because this person KNEW that they had him--hook, line, and sinker. You see, this just goes to show that you can't be shucking and jiving with people, ESPECIALLY when you do or have done some illegal or immoral things that they know about firsthand. I BET that it was one of his close "BOYZ" that had something to do with it. At any rate, the "cat is out of the bag" now. R. Kelly has a loooonnng and haaarrdd road ahead of him. Let's see if he can FLY now!! :D :D :D

Korkscru you got me over here cracking up. LOL "shucking and jiving".
It was only a matter of time before his activities caught up with him. I really want to know who had it out for him becuase they knew exactly what they were doing. I want to know why it's taken so long for him to be indicted on the 21 acts of child pornography and statutory rape. The sad part about is that I don't think he's going to jail. I think he'll have to pay a fine and maybe have a probation. If he does go to prision he'll be playing golf and swimming laps in a pool. I don't think they'll put him with the common folk. |
With respect to the Aaliyah thing, the marriage was not legal b/c she lied about her age on the marriage certificate, and she was underage, thus her parents would not sign for it. I respect him for not talking about it, but he probably signed a confidentiality agreement when all of that happened anyways, and couldn't talk about it anyway.
I think the BET interview was a bad move, seeing as how he was unable to really say anything based on the advice of his lawyers. I hope he comes out a better man for this and will tell his side of the story (re: childhood abuse, etc.) so that we can understand why he did the things he did. Again, my problem is with those people who KNEW he was abusing children and said NOTHING!!!! Yes, he knew better, but did it anyway, but don't ppl have the responsibility to tell if they see someone doing wrong? This whole situation is a HOT MESS!!! |

Candygirl, you sound kinda like my friend. She too THOUGHT that he would probably get off...UNTIL...she heard the news on the radio this afternoon. Candygirl, I'm telling you, THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF HIM (and you can BELIEVE that). With all of this mess going on with the exploitation and sexual abuse of children, R. Kelly picked the WRONG time to upset someone enough for them to get that tape out. Like I said before, he's the FLAVA OF THE MONTH (or should I say the past FEW months). According to what I've read (in more than one article), the prosecutors are going ahead with this with EVERYTHING that they have. They have FIFTY witnesses identifying the girl and R. Kelly in the video. On top of THAT, they have witnesses who are willing to testify that R. Kelly and this girl were messing around. Honey, people don't mind spilling their guts about what they know when it comes to saving their own butts. R. Kelly has had this arrogant kind of attitude (in MY opinion) for quite some time. And I'm willing to bet that he's made quite a few enemies along the way (that's obvious because SOMEBODY was mad enough to give that tape to that newspaper, right?). People think that he's going to get off because he has all of this money, these TERRIFIC lawyers (who aren't so terrific because he's in this mess), and he's famous, right? NOT!!!! As a matter of fact, the fact that he's rich and famous seems to be working more AGAINST him than FOR him. Now I don't think that he's going to get the full 15 years, but I DO believe that he's going to get some time. All of his STUFF is going to come out during his trial. Heck, I can just see those white people's faces when they get a taste of his songs like "Feelin' on Your Booty" or "Bump and Grind" or "Your Body's Calling" because the only songs that they probably know about are "I Believe I Can Fly" or the song that he wrote for the movie "Ali". :D :D :D I'll tell you what I told my friend, after this mess is over with and he serves his time, R. Kelly is going to end up the Minister of Music at some church. :D :D :D |
Rra's other alleged trysts
On another Web site I belong to, someone alleged that Rra had sex with Joumana Kidd. That's Jason Kidd's wife, BTW. Another correspondent said: "Wow, she's got great taste in men - a wife beater and a man who likes to pee on you. I want her sloppy seconds."
  |
Korkscru, you really have me cracking up not because this is a laughing matter but because you say(type) everything with such conviction. After my post I too saw the news and wanted to change my tune. You're right about a lot of things. Your statement about him becoming the mininster of music at some church is pretty funny. For a moment I thought, who would let this man direct any church choir. Then I thought about Rev. Meeks. Although Rev. Meeks has been his spiritual supporter I don't even think he would let Kelley direct his choir.
Rev. James T. Meeks is my mother's pastor and will soon become mine when I go home and join the church. I have much respect for him but his involvement with Robert Kelley is bothering me a little. He's a wonderful man and a great preacher and teacher among other things. At his Wednesday evening service the night before Kelley had the interview on BET, Meeks spoke about the situation. He knew that he would be judged for what he was doing but he felt that he needed to do it. He stated that as a man of God he has know right to judge Kelley but offer spiritual guidance and support. Basically he said that it was the Christain thing to do. What does everyone think about Rev. Meek's involvement in this scandal? |
Well, Candygirl, as a Christian, I can certainly see Rev. Meeks' point of view. I mean, if ANYONE in ANY situation can't go to their pastor, bishop, etc., then who else can they go to. I think that people are getting the wrong idea about Rev. Meeks' stance on this matter. R. Kelly is not so much dealing with MAN'S conviction, but HIS OWN. I believe that Rev. Meeks is totally against what R. Kelly has done and I don't believe that he's supporting R. Kelly in any of his lies. I just believe that Rev. Meeks is trying to deal with R. Kelly on a SPIRITUAL level. Hey, it really doesn't matter what WE think of R. Kelly right about now. The truth of the matter is that all he has to do is REPENT, don't engage in that kind of behavior again, and GOD will forgive him. Now that doesn't mean that MAN will forgive him. Nor does it mean that he will bypass MAN'S punishment for his crime. But if he REPENTS (and believe me, he KNOWS the WORD of GOD or else he wouldn't have gone to Rev. Meeks in the first place), then God will make things right for him. Heck, if I were R. Kelly, I would just want God to make everything alright. There is absolutely NOTHING that Rev. Meeks (or anyone else for that matter) can do for him right now. ONLY GOD can make this messy situation into a positive one for R. Kelly. All WE can do is PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for him (and that's what I'm doing, believe it or not). I said that R. Kelly would probably end up the Minister of Music at some church, not necessarily to be funny (although it WAS), but because this is going to be his TESTIMONY!!!!! If he chooses to allow God to take control of his life, then he is going to WITNESS to people about this experience. Who knows, maybe some time in the future, R. Kelly will end up being the next John P. Key or Hezekiah Walker. He SURELY has the talent to do so. R. Kelly has a true CALLING on his life and God is trying to get through to him before it's too late.
AAALLLL GLORY BE TO GOD!!!!!! |
Korkscru, I really don't think he will be treated with any legitimacy fater this. I am in no position to judge, but I refuse to put him in the category of Hezekiah, John P., or even Kirk, who does a lot of suspect stuff.
I almost feel sorry for the man, because he needs treatment. To get this treatment, he needs to accept the fact that he has a problem, show remorse, and pay the price. I don't think he should be let off lightly, and I'm somewhat disgusted by those that say that he is not to blame, that he is a victim in all this. How? The FBI authentication of the tape is just a hoax? Can we be real? |
Oh, TLaw, I agree with you 1913%. That is what I meant when I said that MAN won't be that forgiving nor will he go unpunished. I agree that he is sick. Now, TLaw, I KNOW that you've read my previous posts, right? I know how you feel about these people saying that R. Kelly is being "framed" or these girls are "fast" or people just want some of his money. ALL of that mess is CRAPOLLA to me. Just as I said before, HE was the "adult" in the matter and as an "adult" he had a MORAL OBLIGATION to say no to those "fast" young girls even IF they were the ones pursing him (which I highly doubt).
Now as far as his being the next John P. or Hezekiah Walker is concerned, maybe I went a little too far. I guess what I was trying to say is that he has the ability and talent to become a great MUSICAL asset to some church some day. I'm saying that he will more than likely have SOMEWHAT of a chance to redeem himself, but not to the extent that most people would think. If so, I'm thinking that he'll be more BEHIND THE SCENES or something like that. But I do feel that R. Kelly's light has "flickered" out. My husband and I were talking about this tonight and we were kinda comparing the amount of PUBLICITY to that of other celebrity scandals such as the O.J. Simpson scandal. We agreed that, although R. Kelly's situation has gotten him a spot on CBS This Morning with Jane Clayson and other major news networks, it's not QUITE as big as O.J.'s situation was. I told my husband that I think that, although I wouldn't want EITHER title, if I had to choose, I'd rather be known as a murderer than a molester. What do you guys think? |
Dannng. That question is HARD, korkscru!!!!! I don't know man. Murderer or molester?? For real, like this is the toughest question I have pondered in quite some time.
I GUESS you are right. I would rather be known as a murderer. LOL. It is hard for me to say that because I am SO laid back that I can't really picture killing someone. But I do suppose that in the heat of some moment I could kill someone before I would ever under ANY circumstance molest a child. That is just unfathomable to me. |
This is kinda sick, but call me a murderer! I feel you on what you said. Maybe this'll give him the opportunity to redeem himself spiritually.
I am tempted to agree that his time seems to be ending. You cannot do the things he has done and go free, and as was said, his fame seems to be working against him. OJ might be better off when it is all said and done. Dang, Rra, dang, dang, dang. I heard that they are so confident it's going to stick that the DAs are already deciding what type of plea-bargaining, if any, they'd partake in. They seem to have this one sewn pretty tight, even without the testimony of the little girl. |
Well, yall I see it like this. People are more apt to get over the fact that you murdered someone rather than the fact that you molested, exploited, or abused (physically or sexually) a CHILD. Now BOTH crimes are unfathomable to me also. But I guess that I would haveto say that murder is like the lesser of two evils. Molesting, exploiting, and sexually or physically abusing children is like TABOO to MOST people regardless of race, relgion, gender, etc. I just know that I wouldn't want to be labeled as a child molester under ANY circumstance whatsoever. Now Librasoul22, I'm not going to say that I WOULDN'T kill anyone. It all depends on the circumstances. If someone is trying to kill ME, then I'm going for the JUGULAR. :D :D I'm also a MOTHER and WIFE. Now if someone is trying to harm or harms my family (more specifically my CHILDREN...my husband can more than likely defend himself), then it's NO HOLDS BARRED!!!
Hey, TLaw, MANY people are starting to change their minds about what's going to happen to R. Kelly. I noticed in one article that his lawyers are now saying that they are going to prove that THE GIRL IN THE VIDEO IS NOT A MINOR. Now my thoughts are this: If he's saying that he's not the man in the video, WHY would his lawyers be focusing on whether the girl is a minor or not. I mean it's like they're NOW saying, "Okay, it IS R. Kelly in the video, but we're going to prove that he wasn't messing with a 14-year-old." Now what's THAT all about? ANOTHER thing is that I noticed on the AKA forum that there are quite a few people who are upset that Sparkle was the one who turned over the tape. Well, I'll say THIS: Let's say Sparkle (OR Aliyah's uncle) WAS the one who turned in the tape. I believe that someone HAD to help her get to the tape in the FIRST place. I think that SOMEONE in R. Kelly's CLOSE, CLOSE circle of "friends" had to actually get their hands on that tape. I feel this way because, to MY knowledge, Sparkle and Aliyah's uncle were not up in R. Kelly's home like that. They didn't have access to his stuff. It HAD to be someone who was in and out of his home on a REGULAR basis. It HAD to be someone who KNEW where he kept stuff because I doubt that he kept these tapes with his other tapes or on the table in the family room (if you know what I mean). :D :D It HAD to be someone who would be able to get to his stuff without suspicion. Another thought is that it HAD to be someone who KNEW that he was doing these young girls. I don't think that Sparkle (or Aliyah's uncle) actually KNEW that he was messing with young girls. And even if they DID know about it, I doubt that they knew that he was making tapes of his encounters. SOMEONE had to give Sparkle, Alyiah's uncle, or WHOEVER turned that tape in the scoop on what was going on. I REALLY feel that it was one of his "BOYZ". What do you guys think? |
