The Soundtrack of your Life or a/an Relationship(s)
List at least 8 songs that would best fit the Soundtrack of your life or a relationship.
These songs should basically give one insight to the ordeals you have gone through throughout your life or during a relationship. :D |
I got a-plenty!!
well, one that immediately comes to mind recently is Micheal Jackson's "Working Day & Night" of the "Off the Wall" album..I live in NYC & with all that's going on, people are still doing their thang..I happened to be playing this song on my CD walkman one morning...& just walking in that crowd of people who are determined to go on with their lives while listening to that song just energized me! I almost started crying...
some others are: Black Butterfly-Deniece Williams Get Up-Amel Larrieux Dream on Dreamer-Brand New Heavies Day Break-Brand New Heavies Stormy Weather-Lena Horne I Got Rhythm-Lena Horne Give it Up, Turn it Loose-Envogue (when I broke up with my cheating @$$ man) I have way more than 8, really, but will just stop here!:D |

Think About It
If you had to put together a CD that reflected your life what songs ( old or new) would you include and why?
I would include about half the songs off the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill because I related to just about every song. Then I would have to say "At Last" by Etta James (OLD OLD school) because the person that I'm with has me floating on cloud 9. I can not exclude the Boys II Men song also known as the Mother's Day anthem. Yall know which one I'm talking about ( you do not want me to start singing) |
Good topic
Girl, At Last is way past Old Old School--it is a Classic. :D A CD of my life would be a long version of Keep Your Head To The Sky.

TTT!!!
I was going to create a new thread, but to set an example for all the little knuckleheads that pop in and out daily, I decided to do a SEARCH and found this thread! LOL! However, I want to put a little bit of a spin on this thread.
I've been sitting here and putting playlists together on my iPod. I have different songs for the different moods that I'm in. So, in retaining the spirit of this thread, what songs make up the soundtrack of your life and relationships? Also, what songs do you listen to when you have just broken up? Are in the mood? Go to workout? Etc.? State the situation and list your songs!! Oh, and don't be surprised if some of you have me running to download a few! I've already found some new songs for my playlists after a trip down memory lane on YouTube! LOL! My (Current) "Breakup"/"Down in the Dumps About Love" Playlist/Soundtrack [In Alphabetical Order]: 1. All Cried Out: Allure 2. Be Happy: Mary J. Blige 3. The Beautiful Ones: Mariah Carey 4. Breakdown: Mariah Carey 5. Brokenhearted: Brandy feat. Wanye 6. Fool Of Me: Michelle N'degeocelle 7. Funny Feelings: 112 8. Good Mourning: India.Arie 9. I'm Done: Tweet 10. I Can't Believe: 112 feat. Faith Evans 11. I Remember: Keyshia Cole 12. I Wish: Carl Thomas 13. In the Rain: XScape 14. Hurts Like Hell: Whitney Houston 15. Love Don't Live Here Anymore: Faith Evans 16. Love is a Losing Game (The Title of My Playlist LOL!): Amy Winehouse 17. Oh Well: Boyz II Men 18. The one I Gave My Heart To: Aaliyah 19. Silly: Taral Hicks 20. Tears Dry on Their Own: Amy Winehouse 21. Through With Love: Destiny's Child 22. Throw it All Away: 112 23. Till It Happens To You: Corinne Bailey Rae 24. Where Do Broken Hearts Go: Whitney Houston 25. Your Letter: 112 As you might see, I'm slightly crazy over 112!! LOL! I'm working on my workout playlist as we speak! |
For the last breakup:
Initially: James Blunt: Beautiful James Blunt: Goodbye My Lover My Chemical Romance: Helena Pink: Just Like a Pill Pink: You and Your Hand Beyonce: Irreplaceable Fuel: Hemorrage Stacie Orrico: I'm Not Missing You To name just a few. Usually, I like to listen to angry music; the last time, there were an unexpected number of ballads. :shrugging: |
