Scentsy Wickless Candles

I never thought I'd be good at selling things like Avon, Mary Kay, etc. And then my friend who sells Scentsy Wickless Candles got me to try it, and I fell in love...and now I'm selling them! I'm really nervous about it, but it's a product that I happen to love and I'm going into this without any really exceptions besides hoping to put a few extra dollars into my pocket every month.

Any advice or thoughts or funny stories would be great!

Wow. They really DO have a home sales company for EVERYTHING.

So it's like Partylite without wicks?

Yes...they do! It's almost scary.

Yeah, no wicks or flame. It's low temperature melting wax, so the heat of a 25 watt bulb will melt it. I have to admit, I wish I knew about this when I was in the dorms. I really like having a candle or tart burning all the time, but no candles in the dorms. I'm up at camp right now and the same thing, no open flame inside any of the buildings...but I can "light" this so it's all good.

KSUViolet06 07-28-2009 08:49 PM

I'm going to be honest, I wouldn't buy this.

I like to actually burn the candle.

And really, if I want my place to smell good, but don't want to light a candle, I'll go buy a plug-in or something...

I can understand that...for certain things I still prefer a candle as well (like romance). But overall...I'm happy with this over a candle

carnation 09-24-2010 11:26 PM

Does anyone know if these candles are really worth the price? Does the scent last a long time?

I sell them and I have to say they are defiantly worth the price!

The scent lasts. A lot of it depends on the room size and how strong you like your scents, some last longer then others. But I can get a good 10-12 hours of scent in my bedroom from 2 cubes of cucumber lime, if not longer. And I like my scents super strong.

If you have any questions on them, or want to know more I can link you to my site!

nittanygirl 09-24-2010 11:56 PM

Don't knock them til you try them KSUViolet!
They are awesome! My mom bought me one and I love it. Great for apartments/dorms where you can't have candles. Once the scent wears out, just dump it out and put in two new cubes. I really really really like it.
The scent seems to last me for so long!

SWTXBelle 09-25-2010 08:47 AM

They are great - I have one in my classroom and it works very well at making my room smell like lavender and not stinky sixth graders. The only problem - my students like to stick their fingers in the melted wax! I bought a warmer that they were discontinuing, so it wasn't expensive. I give 'em a thumbs up!

carnation 09-25-2010 09:11 AM

I would be greatly impressed by something that could negate middle school smells, lol. The year I helped keep in-school suspension, another teacher brought her Febreze Scentstories, which worked as long as there were only the basic smells. But come winter, when there were all these hoodies with the smell of mildew...ugh.

33girl 09-25-2010 11:41 AM

How do these work? Do they just sit there and smell?

I love them for laces you can't have candles. I 've been looking for someone who lives in a dorm to go ahead and host a party for me, I think it would be a huge hit.

At least the wax doesn't get hot!

Carnation, they could! Really!

You plug in the warmer, turn it on and add 1-2 cubes of your favorite scent (or mix it and put in a cube of 2 different scents!) and let it warm. The wax doesn't get hot, just warm and it smells great!

I am a Scentsy believer.

I had never heard of them until I got one for Christmas last year. I LOVE IT. IMO, they produce much more scent than even the best candles, they are less mess, less of a fire hazard, and a lot of them are completely adorable. And there are DOZENS of scents. One of my Kappa sisters recently started selling them and has gotten me hooked on the travel tins as well.

Two thumbs up from me!

I love the travel tins! I'm closing a party tonight that I was the host of and I can't wait to get more!

I love Scentsy. My godsister (Godmother's daughter) sells them and threw a party. I had one in my room in the sorority. Everyone loved it! I think about half my sisters bought one. The one I have in right now is vanilla suede.

honeychile 09-30-2010 08:10 PM

One of the GC ADPis sells Scentsy (I'm trying to remember her screen name, but I think it's SherraK) and she has me hooked. The warmers come in SO many patterns, there's something for everyone. I love the "cooking" scents, like sugar cookie or maple butter - it makes your house smell like Mom's been busy in the kitchen.

I have noticed that, if you freeze the scents prior to warming them, the scent lasts longer.

ETA: The ADPi selling Scentsy is skerbow.

Baked apple pie is one of my favorite scents. Maple Butter is way to sweet for me but I can see how someone would love it!

honeychile 09-30-2010 10:40 PM

Truthfully, I haven't tried Maple Butter yet, but it did sound good. I'll haver to think about it. I don't like "sterile" smells. There's a White Tea Something that I absolutely love!

I bought several of the Liberty warmers, and we used them for a DAR function. It was so pretty, with clean smell and the stars glowing!

White Tea Cactus is so general and nice. Cranberry Muffin you might like a lot if you like the bakery smells, it's October's scent of the month.

Okay, I'm sold! My husband ordered some for me for Christmas from Buttonz and the smell really does last! My favorite: Cinnamon Bear, which smells like cinnamon + red hots.

I was planning on e-mailing you this weekend to see how you were liking it. It's still on the to do list (the weekend isn't over yet, right?LOL). Now I know!

I'm glad your liking it! I have Reggae Sunset going now (first time warming it) and it's really perfect to draw me out of the winter blues!

momof4girls 01-17-2011 09:13 PM

These are so wonderful. The admin at work has one going all the time and the office smells so good. I got oldest daughter one for Christmas for the sole purpose for her to have in the dorm next year. She has it set up in her bedroom and the scent lingers out into the whole house. I still need to get one for myself. Naturally my girls get everything before me.

I wish I heard about the while I was in school! I hated not being able to have something in my dorm room!

If you want to PM me an order (this goes for ANYONE on GC) I will throw in free shipping and a free gift (min $30 order). I'm also going ahead and if you place an order through my Bring Back My Bar party you will qualify to win the Half Price Hostess Rewards. Shop at https://csk.scentsy.us/Home

Every catalog season Scentsy does a cause warmer with 100% of the profits being donated to a charity. Spring/Summer 2011's catalog was just released and the warmer is Piece By Piece, benefiting Autism Speaks. I thought of AXiD right away when I saw it! It would make a great fundraiser for any AXiD chapter.

If anyone wants the list of scents that are retiring just let me know :)

Does anyone want to recommend a Scensty scent that will kill tht smell of very burnt toast? The toast was literally on fire, and I had the doors & windows open, but 5 days later, it stills haunts me!

Yikes! What do you have on hand and what type of scents do you usually like?

You might try sticky cinnamon bun or sweet pea and vanilla.

IrishLake 01-26-2011 09:45 PM

So, my babysitter (daycare) is selling this now. NOt gonna lie... the smell in her house was AH-MAZE-ING! She sent home a catalogue. It's the fall-winter 2010, so I can't wait to see the 2011 spring-summer. I'm a little aprehensive about the warmers, because they're expensive, IMO. $30. But the cubes of wax are reasonable, and I like the little nightlightesque warmers that you only put 1 cube of wax in.
I've always loved Yankee candles, but it seems like I can't smell them after a while. I think I just get used to the smell. The only other candle I love is Woodwicks.
She let me sniff my way through her display box, and sweet pea and vanilla and the honey pear were my favorites!

It's worth the $30 it really is. Or host a party for her and get them free and half priced :) And remember, a warmer is a 1 time buy. The wax really lasts a long time.

The new Spring/Summer catalog is amazing. Seriously. I can't wait to order it and show it around. There are a lot of new warmers!

I love my plug in warmer, it's always in my bathroom.

So the boyfriend finally commented that he liked whatever it was that I had going last night when he got home. It was "My Wish". Of course it's a scent that I'm not sure how much I like, LOL!

nittanygirl 01-26-2011 11:02 PM

I love my scentsy warmer :) I really want to try new scents but I wanna wait until someone has a party so I can actually smell things now. I have apple pie now

Buttonz,
My friend is selling Scentsy and told me to check out her items. I was bummed to see that I could not buy a burner for Penn State or Syracuse University. Do you think they will ever make one for those schools? It would be neat to see sorority burners (not necessarily with their letters but, maybe colors, mascot or philanthropy). I told my friend to put me down for the Autism Speaks one because Phi Mu has recently partnerned with Autism Speaks-though our national philanthropy is still Children's Miracle Network.

If you find out they are going to do a CMN one-please let me know..I would def. buy from you!

The Campus Collection is adding new schools all the time so hopefully we will see more East Coast schools soon!

I would love to see a SDT warmer one day! I know where I'm coming once there is something sorority related on a warmer :)

I didn't know that Phi Mu partnered with Autism Speaks, that's good to know.

If anyone wants a catalog mailed to them just PM me your address!

I just tried Vanilla Suede, and now understand why it's being discontinued. NOT my favorite! But, I LOVE the newest warmer, Casbah!

Vanilla Suede is one of two vanilla scents I actually kinda like, the other being black raspberry vanilla.

Casbah is so pretty, I've seen it in person. A lot of the new warmers are really nice.
