Bristol Palin FINALLY has the baby
Well, about time that Bristol has finally delivered her baby and true to family tradition, gave him a weird name....
Maybe now we can put to rest the conspiracy theory that Trigg was actually Bristol's child, not Sarah's. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has given birth, FOX News confirmed. Palin and her boyfriend Levi Johnston, both 18, are parents to a healthy 7 lb., 4 oz., baby boy in Palmer, Alaska. "We think it's wonderful," Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath, told People.com. "The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited." Jones told People.com that the baby's name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston. Palin is currently residing in Wasilla and completing her high-school diploma through correspondence courses. The baby's father is an apprentice electrician and has been dating Bristol for three years. The new parents previously told reporters this year they plan to wed in 2009 and raise the child together. http://www.people.com/people/article...245389,00.html |
The media has treated it as if the baby is the next King of England. Hopefully, we can put this pregnancy to rest and wish the family the best in raising this child.

I was a little surprised that Tripp was called "a weird name". I know at least three Tripps - all of them from being "John Doe III". Maybe Levi is a Junior, and they didn't want Levi, so went with Tripp? I've also known a few Kips, for being IV. Maybe it's a regional thing.

Trigg was weirder though... |
It's weird to be called Tripp if you are not the third. Same goes for Tre/Trey

I think Trigg comes from Norwegian. Not sure of the spelling, but "tryg" means "safe." It does sound weird in English though. There are plenty of Norwegian names that I'd never name an American kid cause they're weird. "Odd" and "Even" are both Norwegian names!

I know a woman with the last name of Dixon, she always wanted a boy named Mason but that was off the list once she was married. |

I love that show! I want the episodes on DVD. |

I think it's only being reported in the news b/c it was big news during the election. If Palin had never been the VP-nominee, this most certainly would not have made the headlines :p |

Johnston Quits Slope Job
Levi Johnston, the boyfriend of Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol, has quit his North Slope oil field job over questions about his eligibility to work in an electrical apprenticeship program, Johnston's father said Monday.
Johnston, 18, began working this fall in the Milne Point oil field with ASRC Energy Services Inc., a major Slope contractor. In a Sunday newspaper column, Anchorage radio talk show host Dan Fagan questioned how Johnston could take part in ASRC's apprenticeship program without a high school diploma. Fagan said he understood federal regulations require all members of apprenticeship programs to have a diploma. He also questioned whether the governor might have had a hand in getting Johnston into the program. http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/643519.html I knew there were going to be some questions about this... Hopefully he will finish school ! |

I will agree to a point that the media MAY have some play on this BUT...considering whose daughter it is....someone was bound to go poking around about this. No matter how you cut it and it's been said ad nauseum awhile back, there was only so far he could go with a limited education. I still don't totally understand all the circumstances of him dropping out in his senior year from the jump to take care of the baby...but hey...nobody knows the ins and outs of his home life so that is ANOTHER issue...BUT as it stands, regardless if he is Levi Jonston or Joe Blow, when he is that close to finishing his HS education, go on and be done with it...plain and simple. and BTW...who said anything about him breaking any laws? |
*BUMP* I know this will shock the pants off everybody, Bristol and Levi have broken up. *gasps heard 'round the room*

I got 5 that sez we will be seeing Tina Fey reporting for duty soon.... Any takers? |
It won't surprise me if it's true, but this is a report from Star Magazine with Levi's sister Mercedes.
It seems like it ought to be taken with a grain of salt, maybe. But again, it's something so likely that it seems odd to doubt it. |
its also on people.com.
But we saw this coming. :( Too bad. |

It's on yahoo news now.
It's kind of sad really. |

Maybe I should believe everything in Star from now on. |

Unrelated to the quoted post, but related to the thread: I don't think that the birth of Tripp conclusively proved that Trig is not Bristol's baby. When it was announced that she was pregnant, I think Trig was 5 months old... Oy vey, time for some simple math. This will take me a while. |
