I wondered the same thing. I only met her once, and she said another soror asked her to wrap gifts for us (when I was still on my wrapping hustle). Some of the others can or may vouch for her, but I personally can't. I think I was still a neo then, but with the help of GC, I can bust a perp with the quickness! :D :p

(Called us this about 5 times)

Also imitated frat calls and steps all day and called sorority members "sorors". She tried to imitate the leaning back and yelling "INNNNNNcorporated" but didn't realize that the whole word is used, and kept saying "INNNNK!" We all just shook our heads.

KAPPAtivating 05-14-2007 09:34 AM

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago:

I am on my lil' sister's campus where I know several people. Anyway, I am standing in the Student Center talking to some Bruhs and a couple of other folks, when this guy I know approaches us and starts talking. He started saying, "You know that line y'all just crossed over are some cool dudes! I knew they were gonna be Kappas. I could tell by looking at them!" Now to me, he is crossing over into that stalker conversation, but then he continues to say, "I am not really sure what I wanna do yet, I am confused between y'all and XYZ fraternity!"

At that point I am :eek: , but then I simply told him, "my fraternity doesn't like confusion, so maybe you should just go with XYZ!" The other Bruhs were like...did he just TELL US he is confused:confused: ? Needless to say, he'll never be my FRAT!;)

jojapeach 05-14-2007 03:26 PM

^^^!

It's jacked up for the confused college co-ed that the convo took place in the Student Center. It's such a wide-open blessing for that chapter that the convo took place in the Student Center.

Yeah, that sounds a bit questionable.

KAPPAtivating, people do stupid stuff like that all of the time. They just don't get it.

During March, my school had a "Pig Out"(an event where all campus organizations have tables, free food is given out etc.), I had just gotten there and was waiting on my other sorors to show up. So these two girls walked up to me and were like " oh you're an AKA, so tell me what makes your organization better than XYZ," so I told her my opinion on it. Then one girl asks me" are ya'll sluts?!?". I was so stunned that I couldn't speak for a minute. Then I answered her "No, we aren't! Are you looking for an organization for sluts, if so Alpha Kappa Alpha is not for you!" Then she goes on to ask when is rush, and as she is turning to leave, she says well hopefully I'll be an AKA next year. After she left, my sorors and I all looked at each other, and were like not on this campus.

That was kinda harsh! I wish people would realize that it is not acceptable to always say what you think!

ChanelLover 05-20-2007 04:19 PM

I forgot to add, that one of the girls then asked what the GPA requirement was, so I told her and she's like Oh, that's too high, I might have a 2.0 by the end of the semester, and I'm sitting there thinking to myself that I don't think you need to be thinking about joining anything. You need to be worried about going on academic probation. And finally, she asked how much was it to join, after I wouldn't tell her, she poceeds to ask can she pay on a payment plan!

I just wish people would use the same discretion that they do with others. Just because I may happen to be Greek, doesn't mean you can speak to any kind of way. Now, you wouldn't go up to a random person on the street and ask them were they sluts!

Skarface2 05-20-2007 05:22 PM

I was eatin lunch in kafe on kampus with a kouple of my LBs and a GDI komes up to us as we're eating, interupts our meal and proceeds to asks us a million questions about Kappa.. As that is not rude enough he says "I want to be a kappa and I was wondering do you guys haze" we gave him the whole Kappa Alpha Psi is a non-hazing org. spill... We're trying to be polite as possible, answer his questions and at the same time enjoy meal when he asks the most redikulous question of all... "I'm a khristian and I heard that all greeks have their own god that they worship and I dont want to have to give up my religion in order to pledge..."

I know we are not the MIP police, but should this chick transfer yall (Yes...I said yall) betta hip the other chapter to this girl, but if she still has a 0.89 GPA then it won't matter.

Hopefully even Skarface2 knows that the "k" replacement doesn't happen for words pronounced with a "c" sound. ;)

Whaaaa???

:confused:Someone asked me why I still where my greeks letters even after I have graduated from college. Then I had to give them the "lifetime commitment" speech and explain that I continue to work for Delta and will until the day I die and even then I will work in Heaven with my Illustrious Founders.

Class is in SESSION!!

I agree...many things I've heard before being in the bond came from what others heard from older brothers. Nevertheless, it's always funny to hear the things that come out of people's mouth.

Especially when you get "charged" by a non-Greek...

For some strange reason, I think that some P. H. Masons are intimidated by BGLO Frats. I actually heard Masons having conversations about us having to go to college and college not being one of their requirements.

Some of them feel we are uppity! Go figure! I know A PHI A has founders that were P. H. Masons and I am sure that the remaining eight has founders that were either P. H. Masons or O.E.S.!

Being both a Prince Hall Mason and a Kappa I have seen it from both sides and there is a general misunderstanding between Masonry and BGLO's in general. I happen to belong to a lodge that has a big number of greeks mostly Kappas thank GOD :D.

Both have great principals that kinda overlap but there is still a divide. I have ran into Kappas that question me for being a Mason and Masons that question me for being a Kappa. I love both just in different ways.

I don't think Masons are intimadated by greeks just more of a feeling of respect your roots. Masonry is the oldest Fraternal Order and although college is not a requirement a large number of college educated men are masons and they know which founders of all four (opp's five) Greek Frats were Masons. I know that at least the Alpha's, Kappa's, Que's, and Sigma's had at least one founder that was a Mason. So the feeling is more respect your heritage.

I can understand the history of being a Mason and what it has to do with BGLO's, however, I was approached by a young man who is a Mason and he was like, you better give thanks to your 'daddy', because we made all BGLO fraternities. My first response was that my daddy is neither a mason or a greek, so I don't know what he has to do with anything! And the funny thing, is that he is so vocal about wanting to be a NUPE!
