I went to the meeting this morning and I gained 2.2 pounds. I hardly worked out the past two weeks and I missed the meeting last week. I am bummed out and at times I considered quitting.

I am afraid to go to WW tomorrow.
I gained 4 punds last week and I'm pretty sure I've gained this week. I've almost gained back everything I have lost. I just can't stay motivated. The past month has not been a good one. I keep telling myself I am going to get back on track, but then I don't. I feel you CatStar, sometimes I want to quit too. :( |
try to start thinking of it in terms of health instead of weight and it might help. look at it as your life (or quality of life) depends on it. that's helped me a bit. i totally went off my diet yesterday and i felt like poop. i was tired and unmotivated all day. i'm back on track though.

Yeah I didn't even go to WW this morning.
It's my friend's birthday tonight, so I already know that I am going to totally blow it. |

Honestly, I don't really like the meetings. I don't find them motivational at all. I think it's my leader. Often I don't pay attention to what she's saying because I find her really boring. I usually sit through the meeting, but I don't pay attention. Last meeting I went to my mum and I chatted through the whole thing (quietly of course). I miss this weekends meeting, but I did go the weekend before (although I didn't stay for the meeting because I had to go to initiation).

You have to find something to motivate even if it's just setting mini goals. My first goal is to get my first 5 pound star. They didn't hand out stars when I did WW last time and I want my star dammit. |
The last meeting I went to was sooooo boring. It wasn't my regular meeting time either. I felt more bummed out than motivated. I didn't even go to a meeting last this past week. I will go this coming Monday and let you know how I did.
Oh BTW, I sometimes have a substitute leader that I find very irritating. When she is there, I wish to just weigh in and leave immediately. However, for some reason I stay. |
So last week my parents were on vacation so we didn't weigh. We are planning doing it on Wednesday of this week. My parents are worred about it but I am not too worried because Disneyland didn't seem to hurt me to bad. We were so busy that I hardly ate and when I did I found the fruit carts very handy. Also a lot of the places now sell salads along with their burgers. My dad and I have hit a plateau and need to do something to start moving again. We were doing so good for so long and even though our eating habits haven't changed, we are stuck.
|
I stopped keeping track for about a month because the Cadbury mini eggs were killing me. But now I've started up again. I've been taking our puppy on 20-30 min walks 2x a day, so at least I'm getting some form of exercise.
|
I went to my meeting and was afraid the scale went up. I am happy to report that I lost 3.2 pounds. I couldn't believe it! I wasn't even journaling, but I did some exercise though.

Congrats to you!!!

WW is driving me crazy
Okay so my mom and I have been doing this whole Weight Watchers binge (if you can call it that) for the last 3 years off and on...What drives me crazy is I will gain all this weight then take it off and then either my mom or I will quite going for some "really good excuse" at the time, then we gain all the wait we already lost and then some..But then its like I start all over again. It drives me crazy cause I know my body is going what the heck is with this yo-yo girl doing to me....So anyway, the reason why I was going to post here is I weighed in today....When I graduated high school I was 100.5 pounds...which doesnt sound good but I am only 5'4, and very small framed...now I am 5'4 and I when I first weighed in I was nearly 200 pounds....Well today I went to weigh in, thinking I am have gained cause I started to workout again and I didnt do well with Easter being last week and all...You all know the excuses we make...Well I was def. surprised when I weighed in and I became life-time member cuase I hit not only my 20% but my first of many goals of getting back down to my ideal weight...I know can say proudly I weigh 150 lbs....Today on my little membership book it says that I have lost a total of 52.6 pounds in 3 years...My fiance and I are going to celebrate...I am so excited as well as he is...especially since I had my sister try on my wedding dress, becuase I wanted the dress in this certain size and I could fit into it just yet...well today I went and tried it on, and not only does it fit but I need to have it taken in some...Yeah for me.
So my advice to all of you who are doing weight watchers or are thinking about it...Keeping doing it...drinks lots of water, excersie, and write down every little thing you eat...you will surprise yourself. Good luck to all of you |
mshoole...Thanks for the inspirational story. I know that we all need a little inspiration every once and a while.
|
No problem...If you are doing weight watchers please keep with it...I have faith that everyone can do it they put there mind too it.
|
good job ms!

what does the journaling consist of? and do you just write down what you eat or do you total calories and whatnot?
I am not going to join weight watchers. i think i would get a lot of weird looks. i am 5'1" and weigh 125 lbs... not overweight by any means. However, I am 26% body fat, which isn't ghastly... but it's not great either. So I am trying to lose body fat while gaining muscle. And that being said, does writing down what you consume really help you? Right now I am exercising at least 3 times a week (however this week is kind of a break because my knee has been killing me) and weight training. My diet is fair... but i cheat once in a while. |
Because weight Watchers works on a point system and depending on weight you are alloted a certain amount of points, plus 35 flex points (that can be alot depending on what food you choose).
Each food has a points value and you write down what you eat and keep track of it's points value so you achieve your required points target. |
i don't do weight watchers. i just count calories. when you journal that way, just write what you ate and how many calories were in it. for example, i have to keep an eye on more than just calories so i would write out the calories, fat, sugar and sodium i take in. all of which have to stay low for me. not overly difficult, but interesting. i have a whole bunch of info on keeping all of the above mentioned things in check. did you know that watermelon is not good for someone who has to watch their sugar intake? seriously, i have a lot of good info. pm me if you'd like more info.
shelley j sigma k ps - i got the belly dancing dvd and it's funny as all get out. my friend and i did it the other day and wow, good workout. |
I've been doing pretty well recently. I'm trying to get in the habit of just being aware of what I'm eating, and not eating just because I'm bored. Yesterday I read an article in I think Marie Claire about an American editor and a French editor who traded diets for a week or so...it was so interesting! The French lady was so stressed to have to follow the "typical" American diet (lots of snacks, at least one soda a day, pre-packaged, processed food), and it really made me consider the kinds of things that I eat. After reading the American's viewpoint on her week, I was really craving French food SO BAD. All the talk about crusty loaves of bread, good wine...it just sounded so much more appealing. At the end of the week (two weeks maybe, whatever) the American woman on the French diet had lost like 4 pounds. The French woman who had been eating all "lowfat" American foods had gained weight. So it really demonstrated to me what the reality of my eating situation is. I decided I was going to try to be more French...eat whole natural foods, sit down and take time with my meals, savor the rich flavors, etc. So last night my friend and I got a loaf of sourdough bread, some edam cheese, and green apples. I really got into taking the time to cut the apples up, prepare an oil and vinegar dip, etc. It was a nice little process that forced me to slow down and appreciate what I was eating. I don't know if I went over my points limit- and I don't really care. I ate good healthy food, and enjoyed my meal, and now I'm craving more "real" food- ie not some sugary pre-made meal. This is all rambling, so thanks for listening if you've read this far...also though, when I went last week to meeting I had gained 2.6 pounds. But that was around my period, so I was hoping it was just water weight. I tried to be food conscious this week, and when I went in, I had lost 2.4 pounds, putting me at only .2 above my start weight. I'm feeling good about things!
|
i've found the same thing in terms of the foods i eat. when i feel like being "bad" i eat things like bread or crackers and gouda cheese with some apple slices. my cousin and i go to this wine bar in town and get that along with a glass of wine and just enjoy. the cheese board they sell though has dried fruits and nuts as well. oh so good.

I am excited because I am down 3 more lbs. It has been 2 weeks since I last weighed. I finally was able to get past that damn plateau
|
good job adpialumcsuc...
To answer a question probably a page back..yes writing down every little thing you eat is good...Because it will allow you to know what good things you are eating, what bad things you are eating, what types of food you eat too much of, how much water you actually do drink. For me it has been the water thing, I would rather drink coffee, or milk, or juice, but coffee and juice in particular only account for something like 2 glassees of water. Which means I need another x amount of glasses of water. Write things down guys, I have faith in all of you. MS |

Who got her 5 pound bookmark? Oh I think it was me....6.2 altogether, I'm so proud. Now only a few more before I can get something shiny for 10 pounds....

wishinhopin
Congrats on your 5 lb bookmark...im so very happy for oyu..keep up the good work MS |
what else factors into to weight when you step on a scale?
I feel like Bridgette Jones sometimes. HOW does one person gain/lose 2.5 pounds in 2 days/overnight/in two hours????? I get on the scale last week before my break from the gym and I weigh one weight. I go on Saturday for the first time in a week, i have eaten about the same thing for the past week and I am suddenly 2.5 pound lighter. Not that I am complaining. But what's with all the weight fluctuation? This is why I keep telling my trainer i am not losing weight... cuz the scale says something different every time i go in. ARGH! and i am really hungry too... |
I am happy to report that I have lost about 12 pounds. I (am going to be very honest, dont laugh at me) I was a size 13/14 and I just bought a size 11/12 and they fit perfectly.... they were made for me... I am not longer an extra large... now I am a large... and once I have my breast reduction I will be small still!
GO ME! |
I didn't go to my meeting tonight, some friends of my parents invited us for dinner. I hope to go to a meeting at a nearby center before I leave for Long Island.

Back on track
I am really making the effort to get back on track. I'm pretty sure I've put back on most if not all the weight I lost.
I'm tracking my points, and really trying to make better food choices. I went to the gym on sunday and just did 45 minutes of cardio. I'm just going to work out slowly because qwe all know how much I hate going to the gym. I'm going to try and go again on friday for some more cardio and I have a hockey tournament saturday and sunday so I should get plenty of excercise in. So wish me luck again! |

i've been slipping a lot lately on my diet so hopefully after i get back from vacation i'll be able to get back on track.
actually the stress i'v had for the past couple of days has kept me from eating cuz i can't handle food on such a tense stomach. oh well. shelley j sigma k |
I went today to the meeting and we talked about Stressed=Dessert spelled backwards. Guess what for all of us that have the notion to eat when we get stressed. DONT DO IT!!! Make a plan is what we came up with. And to give more hope, I lost 6.2 lbs. All of my "extra-excersing" from soccer this past weekend came in handy...YEAH for me..Good Luck to all
|
Yeah I lost another 1. I am really ok with the slow loss. If I can loose 1 lbs every week I'll be very happy. Who knows I may loose more some other weeks
|
Yesterday, I went to my meeting and I gained 2.4 pounds. The leader weighed me and she told me that it was just a little gain. 2.4, a little gain!? To me, anything less than gaining 1 pound is a little weight gain. I was so devastated! I have thought about quitting again.

Dont Quit.
I went to my meeting yesterday and lost 3.8 lbs. But, a fellow member gained 2.5 lbs. She was thinking of giving up. Ask, your "leader" if she has the 7 day menu. What is it? It is a 7 day calendar where it tells you what to eat, how much to eat. It will truly help. Also, WALK or RUN!! Whatever you chose. Dont forget to exercise, it is a huge thing with losing weight. Quick question, are you drinking enough water? Not coffee or teaor soda, but actual crystal clear blue H20? If not then get a move on it. As in some movie I dont know the name to: "Where there is a will, there is a way." Good LUCK!! |
Okay , everybody...Saturday May 1st marks my start date. I'm going to join WW and they have a meeting at 9am. I have nothing else to do except study for finals, so I'll be there. After reading your posts I see it's not easy, but it is possible. I'll check in later.....
Wish me luck! |

SouthrnBelle - Welcome to the thread. Pop in and post often. |
Yeah don't get frustrated. This is the first week that I have gained since I started. I am very frustarted but I am trying to move that frustration into being better about journaling and watching more what I eat. Oh yeah and that water stuff. I am good about drinking water but I am also good at drinking diet soda and I know that is not helping me at all.
Keeping working on it and you will start to see the results again. |
