i actually have planned on buying a belly dancing dvd to do when i have time. i tried to find a place around town that does dance for adults, but no luck. that's not aerobic activity, it's actually anaerobic, but it's getting you active. i used to do it when i was in middle school, but had to stop b/c i had to have surgery on my feet. so i'd like to get back into it.

I'm not sure where you live but I go to 24 hours fitness and they offer a belly dancing class-it's worth checking out!

alphaiota 03-17-2004 06:15 PM

i think i mentioned earlier (don't remember) that i have a free membership to the ymca in my area. we don't have a 24hr fitness around here. anyhow, i can't afford it. I like the thought though. I know they have tried to do pilates at our ymca, but i've heard it's not great. my cousin is giving me her tapes instead.

also, i've been really bad today eating wise. i had some chicken strips and fries from wendy's. i feel so guilty. i need to work out, but i just hate to. i think i need to live on the beach so i can go do water sports all the time.

We are moving our office in about 1 month and I made sure that the new location had one also because O don't know what I would do without it.

Finally went back to WW today after missing 2 weeks.

I lost 3.8 punds!

ETA: Those WW Fruities candies are only 1 point per pack (so you can eat a whole pack! :D ) and they are really tasty too!

Maybe you can dance with the Teletubbies and count that as activity points!!

I'm thinking of going back to WW next week. I'm afraid I have gained back all I lost this time last year.:(

azdtaxi 03-21-2004 03:13 PM

We had new member retreat this weekend so I am scared of the scale.

OMG...you said it just like them! LOL.

I need to work out. I wish it would warm up so I could go walking/jogging. I walked last weekend but right now it's 25 degrees! If it warms up by lunch I'll take a walk.

Are you girls still working out???

I haven't been working out. I need to get back in the gym but I can't get motivated. I hate even thinking about going to the gym.
I know my gym has a cardio hip-hop class that I would like to try, but it's on wednesday nights and I coach girls hockey on wednesday nights. Our season is almost over so I hope to try that class when hockey is done.

I was going to try and go today and then I said screw that!

azdtaxi 03-23-2004 05:56 PM

I need to get remotivated. I haven't been counting points at all so I just go up and down over and over. Any tips for remotivation?

Sistermadly 03-23-2004 09:45 PM

Need motivation? See http://www.mypetfat.com and order a blob of body fat (replica) to carry around with you to remind you of why you're trying to lose weight in the first place.

This is what 5 lbs. of fat looks like:

http://mypetfat.com/images/5lb-mpf-large.jpg

To think.. I've lost 32 of these. God. I'm SO glad I decided to go to WW!

MrsMcCartney 03-24-2004 01:00 AM

I have to be careful with dieting or I go into ana mode....there were times in college when I was modeling that I literally survived on cigarettes, coffee and hard candy. I take everything to the extreme.....I either eat everything or nothing. I definitely want to get my hard body back though. I know it probably won't be like it was when I was 19, but I am ready to be at the peak of hotness again (ha ha.) I see these women I went to high school with who got all fat and I just think NOOOO! I will NOT let that happen to me!!!!!!!!!! I don't think WW would work for me though.....I actually am looking into Macrobiotics, which is just whole foods, all natural....gets your body into balance and keeps you in optimum health.

Ok the picture is nasty...........
BUT congrats on the amount you have lost. That is awesome

So I weighted last night and I didn't loose any this past week. I am a little frustrated but not ready to give up. I just need to watch what I using my points on a little closer.

jadis96 03-25-2004 12:07 AM

I started in late january, I have lost a total of 14.4 lbs (I know .4 doesn't sound like much, but it makes me feel better!) last week I gained, I was bad and didn't excerise as much as normal. Tomorrow I have weigh in, I hope i lost some. I was so upset when I gained some, but in the long run I am still down and I need to be proud of myself. as long as you stick with it it works!

alphaiota 03-25-2004 12:10 AM

i've been going over my calorie allowance for the day a lot lately. so i've cracked down and today i've only had 1210 so i'm good to go. only over by 10 calories so i don't mind.

jadis96 03-26-2004 11:06 PM

I weighed in yesterday, lost 3.2 lbs last week :)

CatStarESP4 03-27-2004 12:20 AM

I didn't go to the meeting this morning due to the fact that I overslept and it was too late to go anyway. I hope to go next Friday though!

Quoting my own post to say I didn't gain or lose this week. I haven't really counted points for the past three days and I know I went over. If I don't get back on track I'll never get my 5 pound bookmark. :( I want a star. :(

Lady Pi Phi 03-29-2004 10:44 AM

I keep losing and gaining it all back, losing and gaining it all back. I really am having trouble sticking to the plan. I don't know how to keep my self on track.
Any suggestions?

alphaiota 03-29-2004 12:28 PM

Write everything down. I know when I don't I get off track really fast. I also if I write down everything I start feeling guilty for what I have eaten. It does help!

Do you have a good exercise plan?

If you gain some muscle mass you will increase the number of calories that your body burns, even at rest. Physical activity is really the best way to reshape your body- losing the weight and keeping it off!

No, I don't have agood excersise plan. I HATE the gym with a passion!!!!!

I play hockey and I usually go out for an hour walk at lunch time, but that's about it.

mu_agd 03-29-2004 05:36 PM

guess who's been eating everyhting in sight today!

chideltjen 03-29-2004 05:46 PM

argh... so i decided to eat almost a pint of ben and jerry's last night. it's low fat frozen yogurt... but still lots of sugar...

errrrrr...

I would suggest integrating some weight lifting into your routine if you can bear it. It's really the best way to lose weight and not yo-yo. If you do it through dieting only you will gain your weight back the minute you start eating normally again (which inevitably happens).

The thing with WW is they tell you you can never eat "normally" again though.

I know I should do weights, but going to gym is awful. I would rather have a poke in the eye with a sharp stick than go to the gym. That's how much I hate it.

alphaiota 03-29-2004 07:31 PM

yeah, i feel ya mu_agd. i'm in such a sugar mood today. all i want are some sour patch kids, but i know i can't. although my willpower is next to nothing right now so i'm thinking i will since i have actually worked out a lil bit today. cleaning and doing this dance revolution game with the kids at work is something.

Ok so I am down another 1. Slowly but surely!!!
I am concerned though because tonight we are leaving for 3 days at Disneyland. My dad's Jr. High Marching band is marching at Disneyland. It is going to be hard to find something to eat that won't just kill me. I am taking some snacks with us that are low points but I have to eat meals also. Any one have any ideas?

Lady Pi Phi 03-30-2004 04:52 PM

I'm sure you'll be able to get meals that aren't all deep fried in fat and all the bad stuff. There must be restaurants that serves decent meals. I would stick with fish and chicken while you're there. It's usually leaner than the beef and pork or lamb that restaurants would serve.
Have saladsd and vegetables instead of fries or. or have backed potato or rice. Don't put sour cream on baked potato. Butter is not great either, but maybe they have margerine, or if you can eat it plain, or with ketchup.

azdtaxi 03-30-2004 06:36 PM

Whoo hoo!!!! Today I lost two pounds and got my sixteen week award. It doesn't seem like I have even been doing it that long.

alphaiota 03-30-2004 09:34 PM

okay, i know i said i wouldn't but i did. i lost 3lbs!!!:D

one of the things that helps me is the fact that I told all my friends and family that I was doing WW. They have been ultra supportive. The eat with me and even try to pick low point stuff for themselves. I even mention it at work when someone offers me something bad, normally it keeps them from tempting me anymore plus they have almost become a cheering section. My dad even picked up some snacks that are 0 points to keep around their house so if I want something I can without being bad :)

My mother is doing weight watchers and so is her friend (whom I've known all my life). My mum was the one who got to me to go in the first place. People know I am on WW, but my problem is I'm the one who will make tyhe bad food choices, I don't need anyone around me to tempt me. I can do it all by myself :D

I just need to refocus. It's hard and I'm not doing a very good job.
I think part of my problem is I snack mroe at work because I am bored out of my mind. It's hard for me not to eat when I am bored.

hottytoddy 03-31-2004 11:04 PM

I wonder how many points a chimichanga is???
