I tried to get an update on this thread, but I got as far as "Rhett Bob Cooter" and cried laughing for ten minutes.

My dear girl, you don't know? Barbie's great-great-aunt-twice-removed-married-to-a-former-aide-to-a-U.S. Senator invented sequined hose... and they were first tested for wear, durability, and long-lasting sparkle in high-priced, erm, "social houses," if you smell what the Rock is cookin'. Didn't I tell you-- SCANDALOUS!

Excuse me! Those weren't social houses, they were sorority houses. It isn't our fault those cities instituted those pesky brothel laws that confuse so many people!

As for the other gossip, y'all obviously have me confused with some other less than perfect Barbie. Perhaps you have fallen victim to Super Chopper's campaign of terror against my precious self. You'd all better be careful, since I am starting to fluff up my flouncing petticoats!

Caught you Barbie. There is no true proper southern belle going through an SEC recruitment that would ever say "You'd all." Not in a million years. "You'd all." "You'd all?"

I told you I was watching you and watching this recruitment story. "You'd all." Never, ever! "You'd all?"

Hover, hover, hover,
SuperChopperMom

Maybe that's why Madame Alexander cut her! No self respecting southerner forgets to say "Y'ALL!"

minDyG 06-30-2009 05:46 PM

Barbie, ignore the naysayers; the rest of us are all ears to hear the rest of your story!

(PS - What does QFP stand for?)

"Y'all" is used when speaking directly to one person. "All Y'all" is used when addressing a group. Yes, there is a difference. :D

Don't be negative! I am pretty certain the MA's are dying to pledge Barbie. She would be quite the feather in their ermine lined caps!

Not all southerners say "All Y'all" though. Y'all can be singular or pleural!!:p

I'm sorry, gee_ess! I'm hurting inside for Barbie. She DESERVES to be a Madame Alexander, and I'm afraid they are intimidated by her perfection!

 I've never heard "Y'all" being used to speak to only one person?

There's also "y'alls" for plural and "all y'alls" when adding emphasis. ;)

And I must add...this thread wins at life!
