I have another one I saw at work today—pants that are too short but are very obviously not capris. If your pants are 2 inches above your ankle when you're standing and halfway up your shin when you're sitting, they are too short and you need to move up to the next length (i.e., from petite to regular or from regular to tall). It's better to buy pants that are too long and hem them to the correct length than to buy pants that are too short; there is no correcting that.

You know what, this pant length thing is really confusing. I thought it was to be apx. 6" above the ankle, but I've seen TONS of people wearing them longer and shorter. What ARE the acceptable lengths-given that the leg is an average leg?

do you mean for capris? Or regular length pants?
I don't know for capris... it seemed like originally they were a few inches below the knee... now I see them all over the lower leg. As for regular length pants, I like them so that they're long enough so the bottom crinkles a bit over my shoes. Unfortunately I'm pretty tall so finding long enough pants is hard! |

I've seen a lot of women wear pants that just cover the ankle bone. I can't do that. Feels too weird after searching all my life for that extra bit of length. |
