Today on One Life To Live (yeah, I watch soaps. . . :p ) a character said he was a Kappa Alpha Delta. Then another character said something about wasn't that the house that a girl got raped at, and he said, Man that was her word against the brothers. And that was pretty much that.

On Sex in the City, Charolette is a KKG. There was an episode where she met up with some of her sisters and they talked about generic sorority KKG stuff.

Anyone remember Beverly Hills 90210 where Kelly and Donna pledged Alpha House?

And what was the fraternity that Steve pledged, wasn't it Kappa Epsilon Gamma (KEG)?

Sister Havana 07-29-2004 11:09 AM

It was indeed KEG. Didn't Brandon pledge too?

And I remember Kelly and Donna pledging the Alpha house...it was actually Alpha Omega. I remember the rush song they sang..."Alpha Oooomega, Alpha Oooomega."

Yes, I watched way too much 90210. :)

CASIGKAP 07-29-2004 12:21 PM

That's o.k. I watched 90210 way too much too.
If I'm correct, wasn't that where there Andrea made some big fuss about being Jewish & it turns out that the President of the sorority was Jewish herself but just didn't parade it around.

You know, I do remember that now that you mention it!

I used to watch that show religiously, and still sometime watch the reruns on FX!

Correct me if I'm wrong,b ut isn't the name of the fraternity in The Butterfly Effect Chi Phi Beta?

What school does Ashton Kutcher's character go to in the movie? If it's home of Chi Phi's Beta chapter, that would be pretty cool.

there is a Delta Tau Chi

My school, Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia has a chapter of Delta Tau Chi. This chapter is no longer related to the school though. They are suspended for good from what I understand. But yes, we do have the Deltas as we call them on campus.

I was watching an episode of CSI last night (I think anyway, I never watch that type of show but it was an extenuating circumstance - - all I know is it had David Caruso in it) and they had a thing about a webcam site of a "sorority" that was, I believe, Kappa Delta Sigma, which I hope isn't real.

There *IS* a local Alpha Omega sorority at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario:

back to Delta Nu for one sec

I go to Dickinson and the girls from Delta Nu are extremely proud of their history. As far as I know, they do not have any hard feelings against Chi O, but I also am certain they would never revert back. Ironically enough, I read somewhere that Chi O almost put their national headquarters in Carlisle(where Dickisnon is) back in the day. I wonder what the reprucussions of Delta Nu splitting would be....

Its funny though, because our bookstore carries a lot of Delta Nu things like picture frames, keepsake boxes, etc. Every summer we host a ballet camp for little girls, and they all buy the stuff so they can mimic the movie.

Breaking Away

The campus scenes were filmed all around Indiana University-Bloomington. The sorority house the lead serendes at is the Tri-Delt House on that campus.

Also, in the play "the Vanities" KKG is the sorority they all belong to.

Sorry Tri-Deltas...

I was at Blockbuster the other day and saw a move that was called "Delta Delta Die!" About a sorority of canibals and the sorority's name was Tri-Delta. Sorry, Tri-Delta. I think it was a movie made in the early '90s that went straight to video.

yes she did! I remember that episode and she stated it as "The Alpha Gams" which on many campuses (as well as my own) is the nickname for Alpha Gamma Delta.

Blanche/Rue McClanahan is a Theta in real life though :)

I apologize if this has been posted previously here, but I'm lazy and dont want to look through over 6 pages of posts to find out.
