WE CANNOT HAVE OUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!

1. It's amazing how we as African American have a fit when our movies don't do well at the box office, yet when one does it is riddled with controversy....Why is that?

2. We seem to "never mind" and even embrace movies which depict us as thugs, crack-heads, pimps, drug dealers and other "unfavorable" characters (i.e. New Jack City, Menace to Society, Friday, Baby Boy etc...) Where was Jesse Jackson & his crew when young African Americans flocked to these movies?

I just don't get it. I saw Barbershop, I thought the movie was OK, however it was refreshing to see an African American movie with NO CRACK-HEADS AND WHERE NO ONE HAD THEIR BRAINS BLOWN OUT!
