HOWEVER... I do know that in the new NPC "manual of information" (formerly called the green book) there is a rule that no NPC org. should have mixers with groups that are unrecognized by their inter/national organization. |

(Sorry. Took the family to see a stage production of Junie B. Jones this weekend.) And there was this winner from an earlier post: That is why I will not disclose these groups. If you want to know, call up SRU greek life and ask. Okay? It is not my business to talk about the personal business of greek orgs here. I simply asked a question a long time ago- why do these groups run underground? ASA does it, AXP does it, LXA does it, just to name a few. I will not disclose the groups, but these are the groups, just to name a few. Ooookay. |
Exactly, and this vote was taken before that rule was in effect in the Green Book. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know that rule existed. But I know for fact that it was probably a 8-2 vote, 8 saying they would mix with whomever they wanted. In a campus climate such as the one at Bloomsburg, it'll take heaven and earth to get the unrecognized fraternity issue to go away....could be the same as SRU, I don't know.

there are 4 unrecognized fraternities on my campus- they just stay alive by the alumni and hardcore practices- after all these years they are still here such as our brother fraternity- delta kappa beta
we still mix with these groups though... |
I'm not taking the time to read this entire thread, so I appologize if this has already been mentioned.
IF you are going to have events with an underground (or whatever you want to call it group), please take into account whether they are properly insured. If they aren't, run away! |
We have Sig Ep chapter running underground at my school. They lost their chater last semester but continue running as Texas Phi their chapter designation. They continue to rush claiming that they are coming back, but who knows.
|
Texas Phi
Sig Ep almost certainly will not allow the local to reaffiliate but instead will form a new group.
|
Undergrounds
Former DU chapters continue as undergrounds at Union College and Syracuse University, DU will not recolonize until these groups die out.
|
Williams underground
What did Williams College ever do to the underground chapter of Delta Psi that emerged after 30 years last spring.
