Then its a risk you take. Most of the reviews I read were more detailed than the comments given here.

I will not see this movie but would love it if someone could PM me the storyline with the twist.

Thanks.

I think DWalphagams point about spoilers is right there should be some warning on them . . I just didn't think the thread gave that much away.

Well, I really really really loved the movie :) I kinda guessed the end of it, but aside from that I thought it was really good. During one part of the movie I got physically sick because I became so scared... :o

There's much more to this film than the end. Most of us are college educated, so I think that most everyone who sees it will see The Village's little themes.

I loved the love story b/w Ivy and Lucius -- for some reason, it was constructed in such a perfect way.

I agree...I think the part where she was reaching her hand out and he came running up and grabbed her was just so awesome.

The very very end really pissed me off though. There are 2 really really big things that we never find out, and there are a few more questions I'd like to have answered.

I thought this movie was fantastic! I think the reason that I loved it so much was because I am more of a literature person than a film buff. In terms of narrative and character development, M. Night is a master!!!! Beautiful.

I agree. I genuinely cared about the characters, and I think the movie did a great job evoking moods.

I liked it when she asked out of nowhere, " Will you dance me with me on our wedding night? I find dancing to be very agreeable."

I had to laugh and feel bad for the guy a for a second after her sisters flat out declaration. ITs like what is with the girls from that family . .. hehe

my sister told me the end of the movie, so it kinda killed my desire to go see it. maybe i will see it on video. i am intelligent enough to see the underlying themes;) :p

My boyfriend caught me shedding a few tears at that part. :o

But yep, ditto on the romance aspect of this movie, ahh gawd, I loved the movie :)

I wasn't expecting it to be so much of a love story, but I wasn't disapointed. I thought M. Knight did a good job writing that aspect of the movie. But the scary parts were also good. And I liked the twists. Bryce Dallas Howard did a great job.

Also, I thought the music, particularly the violinist, was amazing. It added so much to the movie.

I saw this movie yesterday and I loved it. I was interested in seeing it, but not too super excited...maybe that's why I liked it so much; I didn't build it up before seeing it. As an English teacher, to me it screams Nathaniel Hawthorne (think Blithdale Romance & Young Goodman Brown). That could also be why I enjoyed it.

Did anyone else see the ties to terrorism?

_Opi_ 08-17-2004 12:10 PM

Thing is, I really liked the movie and all, but I guessed the concept of the movie, and I was right. I don't like movies that I can predict like that......other than that.. I Luv Shamalayan (?sp)!

cash78mere 08-18-2004 10:27 PM

that was one of the worst movies i've ever seen. the acting stunk. that howard chick was terrible!

the first hour of the film was so slow. my boyfriend was so pissed that i dragged him to see it but i was just as disappointed.

now i know why it got bad reviews
